I am an avid family history buff and love to research. Cemeteries are such a great source for expanding family knowledge and family ties. I am delighted to be able to help anyone looking for family buried in the York and Hall County Nebraska and surrounding areas.
And for those of you who have visited my memorials and left flowers, your kindness is appreciated. I especially thank you for your thoughts about my granddaughter Michala. She is buried so far away, and I am so glad to have this place online to honor her memory. Thank you for caring.
I have added memorials for many persons who are not related to me. If you would like me to transfer these to you, please let me know. I am also willing to forward any pictures I have taken. I keep them for about a year.

RE: Thank you for the photo
Hi Vicky

Your are sincerely welcome. It is my pleasure to do this for you and the other members of Find A Grave.

It really wasn't a problem. My husband and I select a few cemeteries to do when we work(home based business. If they are along our route, we stop. Having said that I am glad that you got to go there in person and get all the photographs you needed. Going in person is more meaningful.

Be blessed.

Find A Grave Memorial# 51924011 for Howard Proud
While searching my family roots, I came across the following article regarding the death of Howard Proud. I thought it might be of some assistance to his family in their research. I am no relation to Howard Proud but found this excerpt from the Clay County Texas Genealogy website. I have included the web address below. I hope this may be of some help to someone.

Has Fatal Results for Howard Proud
Victim Sank and Came to Surface Several Times Within a Few Feet of His Companions
Electra Tex. - June 17, Yesterday afternoon, Howard Proud and eight other young men went to a small tank, on the Bear farm, about five miles north of this place, to take a refreshing plunge. Young Proud was the first to enter the water and he swam only about fifteen or twenty feet when he sank. He came to the surface and sank again. This was repeated seven times and he sank to rise no more.
His companions thought at first he was diving and were not alarmed. Later they thought there must be something wrong, but only one of them could swim at all and he was afraid to attempt to rescue his friend. About two hours later other help was secured and his body was recovered.
The fact that each time young Proud came to the surface, he was exactly in the same position, with his hands slightly raised, leads to the supposition that he must have been cramping. This is also confirmed by the fact that he was unable to speak and call for help.
The body was taken to the home of George Proud, the boy's father, where funeral arrangements are being made. The deceased was about 21 years of age and came from Aurora Nebraska last February.
