I am sorry that it came down to this as I dislike having to make a little request. Regarding Obits/funeral notices you may find for memorials I maintain at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, Cattaraugus County, NY. I have access to all the newspapers in the area and I am posting obits. as fast as my little fingers will go. Please don't send me a obit. for one I haven't got to yet, I will get to it soon. If you have a obit. or funeral notice for one of my memorials that is from, other than, Chestnut Hill Cemetery please feel free to send them. Thank You!

Hi Mark,

I see you have photographed a lot of my family's headstones in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. I wanted to ask your permission to use your photos in my family tree on ancestry. I would of course give you credit as the photographer.

Please let me know..

Thank you,

RE: Isaac Boorum
Hi, Mark,

Sorry for the delayed response - things have been a bit hectic in my part of the world.

This has been a very interesting family to track down! At least 3 generations of Boorom/Boorum guys marrying girls named Sarah/Sally; different spellings of the surname; the same names used each generation; folks being in places you don't expect to find them; and not a lot of death and burial info. And because I don't know the family, it's even more confusing! Even today, when I went back to double-check myself on the link to Isaac's mother, I managed to thoroughly confuse myself and to start thinking I had messed it all up and linked him to his grandmother! lol

It sounds as if you are also deeply involved with a cemetery. Hope you're getting support from whoever is responsible for the cemetery. Wish I had some.

Take care and good luck with the cemetery project!

Isaac Boorum
Hi, Mark,

First, thanks for the quick response and for linking Isaac to his mother. We know his father's name - Elijah Boorum, a lot of his ancestors, and about when he died, but we have no clue where he might be buried.

Second, thanks for straightening the Boorum monument! It's clear from the background that it's leaning a lot. But your taking the time to straighten it - either when you took the photo or later in an editing program - shows that you care about the folks you are photographing. Not that there is anything wrong with showing the markers the way they actually are, but it lets me at least know that you are doing this work with love and respect. And that means a lot.

Thank you for your work!

Take care.

RE: Brim Family
I'm sorry, did I follow up with you? Being a Mom, I'm off and on with geneology. I would love to see the other set of photos for "Brim" at Diller Menonite Cemetery.
Many thanks,
