Bio and Links
I have been doing genealogy for years, searching family names like, Schilling, Brooks, Sweeney, Allen, Scarbrough, Bacon, & Weatherby just to name a few. After retirement I became a photo volunteer because, for me, it was the best way to help while working on it when I can. I enjoy helping others find their ancestors that way.

Hey Stella! Photo permission?
Stella ... I'm doing a bit on Lt. Lewis Casey in Footprints of Marion County. Could I have your permission to run the photo of Lewis Casey's stone in Footprints? And of course give you credit in print?

Little Grove
Stella, What happened is this. You know, before we all had it right, and had Little Grove listed as being in Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, IL. A short time ago, Ancestry took over Find a Grave from what I understand. When I went to enter some more info on the family, all of a sudden, either "Ancestry" or "Find a Grave", showed a map for the cemetery, however, they also changed the town for all the memorials in that cemetery, to being in "Jefferson City" (where they came up with Jefferson City I have no idea, but as you know there is no such place)in Jefferson County, IL. I and a few others contacted Find a Grave and also Ancestry to find out who changed the location since none of the people that had entered the memorials did, and none of us were notified about the change, and the info they changed was totally wrong. (It took them quite some time before they changed it back, and even then, they just took out that it was in "Jefferson City" with no mention to Walnut Hill.) As you know, the cemetery is naturally still in Walnut Hill, but since the north/south county dividing line is Walnut Hill Rd. and Little Grove is on the south side of that road, it makes the cemetery in Jefferson County and the north side of that road is in Marion County. Things have changed a lot since Ancestry has become involved in Find A Grave and it's not been for the good.

Cemetery didn't just get up and move
To: Find A
Yesterday, I went to look up and add family on Find A Grave, in Little Grove Cemetery in Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois. On find a grave, this cemetery has some how been newly removed, from Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois to Jefferson City, Jefferson County, Illinois. I have a lot of family buried in this cemetery and as of yesterday, it is still located where it has always been, in Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois.
I have been on Find A Grave for over 10 years, and this is ridiculous that this has happened. When I discovered this error, I checked with others that have family buried there and they checked it out also and everyone feels that there must be someone there changing things at the site itself for this to have happened.
Please check on this and get it straightened out. The changes that are going on at Find A Grave are not helping people, just confusing them.

Regarding Orville Snider, Find A Grave Memorial# 93937771, you added a photo to this memorial. However, the headstone says Jim Snider. There is a Jim Snider, Find A Grave Memorial# 5243209 that matches the info in the photo and also has the photo added to his memorial.

I believe the photo was added to Orville Snider's memorial on accident. Would you be able to fix it? And do you also have Orville's headstone photo in your archives?

Thank you for your consideration.
