I've been doing genealogy research for about 35 years. I started before you could turn on your computer and do the research from your home. While I enjoy the convenience of using the internet to do research, I still enjoy the more "hands on" approach. I've taken many trips over the years to courthouses, cemeteries, to visit elderly family members, etc. along the way. For me, the online research just doesn't bring the same satisfaction that I feel when I am able to go dig up the information in person. I've enjoyed meeting cousins that I never knew I had, and I've also been able to reconnect with family members that I've lost contact with over the years. This has become a great hobby, and I've enjoyed learning all the interesting stories, both good and bad, about my family history. I hope I have and am playing some small part in getting younger members of my family interested in what came before them.

I'm happy to share whatever information that I have. Feel free to use the grave photos that I've added without contacting me. I've uploaded them for your use. All I ask is that you list where you got the photo along with the cemetery, city, state so others can find the grave if they wish to visit it. I'm happy to take photos of graves in my area for other people and upload them to memorials here. I think of it as a kind of payment for those who have been kind enough to get photos for me. I try to take the kind of photos that I would like to have....well focused, as readable as possible, and a good angle.

As for the more PERSONAL PHOTOS, I'd like to be contacted before anyone adds them to another website or uses them in any other way. I love sharing, but I also like to know where and how my research and/or personal family photos will be used, and I like to know that credit is given to the proper individual(s) if my research or photos are used by others. I feel it's extremely important that future researchers be able to get to original sources of pictures and other documents the same way that I and others did. It's very frustrating to see a supposed photo of someone on the internet, but the person posting the photo doesn't have the original, can't tell you where the original is or any other information about it, and doesn't even know for sure that the photo is correctly identified.

I'm happy to transfer any memorials that don't belong to my family. Just let me know if I am managing a memorial which is of your family member, and I'll get it transferred to you ASAP if I'm not related. I like to see memorials in the hands of family or friends who can add to the memorial and make it the best it can be.

Thanks for the help on correcting his birth mother. I have just recently acquired this memorial and those were prior edits.
Many thanks!

Thank you so much for providing his obit. It has been added to his memorial. He was my 2nd great-grandfather and I really appreciate you for sharing this information with me.

Flower you left on William Carter King Memorial
Hi Sabrina:

Just letting you know that the Memorial for Wm. Carter King where you left your beautiful "Rest in Peave Dove" emblem with your name, Sabrina K. Combs and the date added: April 21, 2013 is, unfortunately a duplicate Memorial having been created Aug 9 2011.

The original was created June 3, 2011. I am still working on a merge but have not found that possibility as yet.

I wanted to let you know in case you might repost your remembrance to the original Memorial page, #70767611.

I got the information from her obit. You can go to and search for her obit. The following is what is in their index. I have no way to send you the actual obit since it is in pdf format and you don't have an email listed.

Taylor Photo Requests
This may be of interest to you. In the Taylor plot at Stripling Chapel Cemetery, all graves are Taylor except for an Infant Merrill, which I photographed.

Doice and Faye Chandler
You have a photo request for Doice and Faye Chandler. I checked this cemetery twice and could not locate their marker. Checked on the obits and they were living in Morgan county. Found them in the Mt.Carmel cemetery at Eva. Have posted their info there. I will request that the info at Berlin be removed
