Thank you so much for all your help updating the memorials in this cemetery. D. L.

I want to apologize that I had sent edit suggestions for the incorrect parents.
I have sent a new edit suggestion to correct my error.
The correct parents are John 'Bike' Smith and Maria Newland Smith (she is my aunt). Sorry to have made extra work for you; I can only blame it on my having a "senior moment".
Thanks for all you do for Find A Grave!
Thank You so much for bringing this to my attention. I have removed the photo and posted it to the correct memorial It looks like there is still work being done on this Scott Cemetery and that stones are being repaired and up righted. My husband and I worked on this cemetery with the New Albany Cemetery Assoc. in 2007 cleaning the stones and weeds.

|D. L. Lee||RE: Sylvan Sicer - Scott Cemetery|
I did see where Joseph and Ida were buried in Fairview Cemetery, but with the dates of birth and death of Sylvan being between census records and no birth or death record found, I was also unable to find proof. The only connection I found was that Sylvan was buried next to Ida's parents and that is blurred by the "I. N." on the inscription on Sylvan's marker. Thank you so much for all of your help. D. L.
|D. L. Lee||RE: John Kennedy Very - Scott Cemetery|
You have done a wonderful job documenting this historic cemetery.
I have posted the picture showing the name of his parents to the memorial under the name John Kennedy Very. The duplication in the transcription of the cemetery was probably due to the fact that there was an individual marker for "John Kennedy Very", and on one face of his parents' marker was "Children of Martin and Eliza Very." He was listed as the oldest child, "John K. - April 13 (or 18), 1835", and only the dates of birth were listed for each of the 9 children.
Thank you for your help, D. L.
|Randy Orrison||RE: Lenimore/Lennimore Cemetery, Arran|
"The SAFHS may have just arbitrarily given it the nearest place name."
http://www.ayrshireroots.co.uk/Towns/Arran/Burial%20Grounds.htm lists it as Lenimore Cemetery, though it then calls it a burial ground.
I was inclined to think that the historical societies would have been more likely to use an original name, but The Book of Arran (1910 - https://archive.org/stream/cu31924091786255/cu31924091786255_djvu.txt) mentions Thundergay a few times, but not Lenimore or Lennimore, so perhaps that is the older name?
Ayrshire Roots also lists Pirnmill Cemetery, which is probably the same as the Whitefarland Cemetery from the council list. Something to look for on the next visit... Another mention of it is here https://canmore.org.uk/site/83187
|Randy Orrison||Another thought on Lenimore|
Hi again - The Scottish Association of Family History Societies lists this burial ground as named "Lenimore" with an alternate name of Thundergay. It may be worth listing "Lenimore Burial Ground" as the name, and "Thundergay Cemetery" as an alternate (or the other way around).
|Randy Orrison||Lennimore Burial Ground|
There are possibly three small burial grounds along the A841 between Machrie and Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. There's a list at http://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/resident/births-marriages-and-deaths/deaths/cemeteries-in-north-ayrshire.aspx - Machrie, Thundergay, and Whitefarland are all along the A841. Thundergay is quite close to Lennimore and the location of http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2448971 - so perhaps that burial ground is "Thundergay Cemetery" from the council list?
I was amazed to find the headstone of Mene Smith photographed by you. A big thanks for your work, and especially for helping me find this elusive ancestor's resting place.
