Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am happy to take photo requests and make changes to memorials, However, please note that I work full time, am a full time student, and I'm the mother of an active 5 year old and wife to an amazing husband.

Some of my, and my husband's, family names being researched are listed in my virtual cemeteries, at the moment the majority are mine. The list is growing.

I make visits to Andersonville National Cemetery to visit with my mom and brother and to put flowers on their graves. When I make these trips I take photos for others. I try to pop in and look in the cemetery database located in the lobby. If you would like to look for information in that database without having to visit the cemetery - it was made public by the family of Jack Lundquist who developed it. When he passed away in 2009 his family put it on line at:

http://civilwarprisoners.com

I have a passion for capturing and sharing information found in cemeteries. When I stand and look about I see the headstones and markers and so much more. They are markers of a life that once was. As I stand there quietly I listen, to the whispers on the wind that say "remember me."

Olga Gunderson Blish
Hi Terry,

Regarding Olga Gunderson Blish #73664435, I do not believe this is the daughter of Gunder and Dorthea Gunderson. As you can see, her age is the same as her mother. There is another Olga Haavarda Gungerson DeGodt Blish Haberlie, but she was born in 1901 and was divorced from Walter Blish before 1940, then married Herman Haberlie around 1948.

Rgds,

Patti

RE: Frank Shipman
All of the Nuckolls County cemeteries are on Find A Grave so you might query them for the obits. If they aren't on the memorial let me know and I will scan them when I go to the newspaper office which is only 3 blocks from our home.

RE: Frank Shipman
I am so lucky that the editor allows me to bring home the bound newspaper books and lets me put the obits on Find A Grave. Glad I could help you out with your research.

Suggested Correction for G. H. Remsen memorial (ID #111110961)
Terry,

I believe a transcription error exists for the following findagrave memorial:

G. H. Remsen

I believe instead of "G", the first initial should be "C". The soldier in question is named Cornelius H. Remsen, and July 15, 2014, is the 150th anniversary of his death.

The following compiled service record is from the New York Adjutant-General's Report:

REMSEN, CORNELIUS H.—Age, 30 years. Enlisted August 26, 1862, at New York city; mustered in as private, 2nd New York (Harris Light) Cavalry, Company M, to serve three years; captured at Stevensville, Va., March, 1864; died July 15, 1864, at Andersonville, Ga.

Thank you.

RE: Gertie Mallette
You're welcome. Yes, you can post the photo to ancestry. I am going through Calvary in order and found just the one Mallette grave so far. It seemed to be in a section of single graves so maybe I will come across the others as I advance through the cemetery.

Bobby Shannon # 109863103
Hi - About a year ago I fulfilled one of your photo requests for Bobby Shannon # 109863103. At that time he only had a metal mortuary marker. This is to let you know that this spring before Memorial Day (I'm pretty sure in May), the mortuary marker was replaced with a bronze military marker. I have updated the photos on his memorial. - Bill
