I added the obit. Thanks. I changed the date to match the obituary but it definitely looks like a 7 or 17 on the headstone. I have ran into that a lot though where the headstone doesn't match the obit or the SSDI. I don't know if the headstones were made later and the people forgot the date or if the records are off.

Memorial 31100618. Are you related to Simon Bexley or do you know anyone that is related?

RE: Civil War Vet
Linda, Thanks for the correct death date for James. The date came from records at the MS Archives in Jackson which I have found to have many, many errors. It will take a long time to make all the corrections. Dan McCaskill

She lets me take care of her memorials which the only ones I have been working on little by little for her is at Poplar head.
She is just too busy to do it.
Anything you need done on her memorials, just send it to me please.

Thank you so much for adding the obit for my great grandfather. That was so thrilling for me to read!

RE: Carvers
I just knew that man was at Evergreen, but didn't have any death info on him and didn't want to create a future mess making the memorial.

Think you have his birth date wrong. The marriage record is for Matilda and thus is giving her birth date. Census records including the 1900 census gives his birth as Apr 1836.

I hadn't done his father, but I have Elihu in my records with a son, David, married to Elodie Batson. Was it the same David that married Elodie and Matilda Breakfield?

Elihu and his wife, Justine Nicaise are at Cedar Rest, I'll send the update links for that.

Next question...Jackson County Burial Records....where are you finding those?
