ROSE M. BLACKFORD
Hi.

I got the photos of the markers for James L. Blackford (and his wife, Rose) at Dundee Township East cemetery. I had to create a memorial for Rose in order to post the photo as there was no memorial for her. If you want, I can transfer management of her memorial to you. Just let me know.

Best wishes,
Jim Bellert

RE: Friend family
Thomas & Mary Burnett Friend would have been my 5th great Uncle & Aunt, Thomas being a brother of Andrew Pendleton Friend, from whom I descended.

I have been searching since your message and I am striking out as well. In those days, in what is now central West Virginia, it was surely a remote, difficult place. My guess is that deaths were often dealt with by family members and not necessarily reported to the county government (formed in 1836).

Sad stuff indeed. But maybe we'll come across something one day...

Jodi, I'm sorry, but I don't have a thing on Mary Burnett Friend, wife of Thomas Friend. I'll hang on to your inquiry though and if I come across something I'll forward it along.

RE: Emily Nation Leakey
Hi,
I know that you wanted some information on Aaron Leakey. I found this in the Muncie News, March 2, 1895:
SUDDEN DEATH--Aaron Lakey, aged 80 years, died on Thursday evening at the home of Oliver West, three miles south of the city. His death came very suddenly as he was spending the evening at the home of Mr. West, which is near his own.

I stopped at the office of Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie, Delaware County, and asked if Aaron was buried there and they have no record of him. The girl in the office did locate some info that Aaron B. Leakey, age 77, died Feb. 27, 1895 in Monroe Township, Delaware County, Indiana, but she could not find where he was buried. His third wife, Mary Losh (#140112927) IS buried in Beech Grove and I added her obituary to her memorial.

Wish I could offer you more information, but hope this is helpful

RE: Emily Nation Leakey
Hi,
I am so glad you are happy with the photo! There were no other Leakeys in the area--she is buried in the Nation lot. Would an obituary be helpful, if I could locate one? Let me know if you need a memorial transfer to your care--

RE: Charles Nichols
No, sorry, I don't. We were in Michigan photographing a few gravesites of relatives and decided to do the entire cemetery, but I have no information on 99% of the gravesites here.

RE: Roy Burnett
Yes, there was a headstone for his wife Ida Burnett & we are in the process of adding Ida's memorial to the website.
