Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy since 1976. This has been a fun hobby looking up my ancestors and finding out who and where they are buried. It shows me what stock I come from my heritage.

Plus this is a great source for finding others in my tree to fill in the gap of blanks in my family history.

I use this as a training place for helping others trying to find their ancestors to learn where they come from and who they may be related to.

Researching surnames on Boelling, Gardner,
Ungry, Wert, McLaughlin, Gustin, Brinkmann, Black,
Henry and others.

Been known to be a Gravestone whisperer.

John Spellman, Woodland Cem.
Thank you for trying to find John Spellman at the Woodland Cemetery. I really appreciate it. Sad to hear he's in a unmarked grave. John was wounded less than a week before General Lee surrendered at Appomattox.

Darnes photos at Highland
Hi Tom,

I am not sure if I thanked you already for taking the photos for me of the Darnes family at Highland cemetery. I am so buried in emails I am trying to get caught up! So if I overlooked it, I am sorry and a big thank you for helping me out!!

With your permission may I use the photos you took in my family tree? I will give you proper photo credit if you will allow this.

Thanks again, Erin

Clarence Hoffman
Hello Tom, It has been awhile since I corresponded with you regarding the Boelling's. I noticed when I got a hint on my dads name that he is being shown buried at St. JOhn Cemetery in Granite City. This is incorrect. He is buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Edwardsville. My grandfather and grandmother Christian and Minnie are the parents and are the only ones buried there except for my great grandparents Margaret and Andrew Hoffmann and my dads sister Kathern and Howard Westbrook. None of the other kids are buried at St. John Cemetery. There may be another Clarenece Hoffman but this is not my dad and actually he was married to my dads cousin. Just happen to have the same name. Could you please change this so it is not misleading? Thanks. my email is

134089049 - Wilson Vance
Again, Wilson Vance isn't the son of Hiram and Phoebe Skidmore Vance. Wilson is the father of my great grandfather, the son of Robert and Catherine Barnhouse Vance. I've had no choice but to go to findagrave/ to try to get this corrected. When I try to find out where the information comes from your answers make no sense. The VFA has no record of this Wilson Vance ever existing. I got the same thing when I was trying to resolve the issues between Emily and emma Vance. Then I was able to find out where Mahlon Vance and his father Ira were actually buried instead of a virtual and forwarded that info to you which you did correct. Ira is my cousin Terri's great, great grandfather. There is too much misinformation about the Vance Family out there as it is.

Sheri Rice
Eleanor (Baum) Boelling
Hello Tom,

Eleanor & Otto Boelling were my husband's grandparents. He never met Otto, as he passed away before my husband was born, but I think he did get to meet Eleanor. Their daughter, Esther, was my husband, Jerry's, mother. If you would like any information, please let me know!

Photo Request - Blanche Miroglo
I believe the last name to be "Miroglio" as I find the following information for a Blanche Miroglio:

California Death Index, 1940-1997
Name: Blanche Myrtle Miroglio
Social Security #: 520102945
Sex: Female
Birth Date: 14 Aug 1904
Birthplace: Iowa
Death Date: 26 Aug 1985
Death Place: Lake
Mother's Maiden Name: Foy
Father's Surname: Black

Social Security Death Index
Name: Blanche Miroglio
SSN: 520-10-2945
Last Residence: 95422 Clearlake, Lake, California, United States of America
Born: 14 Aug 1904
Died: Aug 1985
State (Year) SSN issued: Wyoming (Before 1951)

U.S. Public Records Index, Volume 1
Name: Blanche Miroglio
Address: PO Box 1166, Lower Lake, CA, 95457-1166 (1986)
[6215 Old Highway 53, Clearlake, CA, 95422-9388]
[PO Box 4007, Clearlake, CA, 95422-4007 (1985)]

Also, there is an Albert Miroglio, b. 16 Nov 1911, d. 4 Sep 1964 in Contra Costa Co., CA (whose mother's surname was Marello) listed in the California Death Index.

I went through all the burial listings for the Cheyenne cemeteries and did not find Blanche in any of them. We went to Lakeview again today and checked to see if she is buried with her first husband (Thomas Wixtead) in Lot 1918. There is no grave marker for her in that location or the immediate area.

Do you have any specific info that she is actually buried in Lakeview? It is a very old cemetery and I have found many marked graves that are not on the cemetery's digital records.
