Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Karen Kirk, direct descendant of John L Kirk, b 1790 Orange Co, North Carolina and Cobb County, Georgia, Burnt Hickory/New Salem Road. I live in the Marietta/Hiram, GA area and have most of my life when my father wasn't transferred to another state or country. My father's relatives are mostly from Roswell and Marietta, GA. I have been doing genealogy since 2002 and love going to cemeteries to find where my roots came from. My line consist of Kirk, Mize, Coggins, Littlefield and Hicks.

If anyone is related to any memorials I have added, I would be happy to turn them over to you.

Thank You!
Thank You for taking and posting the picture of Eugene McTaggart's grave marker in the Paulding Memorial Gardens cemetery.
He lived on Lancer Drive, near Tapp Middle School a couple of houses down the street from me.

BTW: Good looking picture!

Thank you so very much for taking his memorial I can send the picture to his son that will probably never make it back to the cemetery. He lives in Washington I was his second wife. He was a very precious man. This meant a lot to the family.

It is listed as New Salem Baptist Cemetery #1 (Old) Sarah Smithwick Kirk is one of the persons buried there as well as several Hardages. You can add John's grave to this Find A Grave site. Thank you.

Okay, the correct photo is now added to her memorial. Thank you for your patience while I sorted this out.

I've got the correct location now. I deleted the photo that was taken in Aster Plot. The location is in Sycamore Plot. I will get another photo this weekend.

That's strange. According to the memorial, the person who manages Carrie's memorial indicated there is an inscription, so there is supposed to be a headstone. I believe what has happened here is that Don Green listed the wrong location on her memorial, which would explain why I did not find a marker.

I will go back and confirm at the office what the correct location is, and go back and look again.

Sorry for any confusion.

Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. There is no marker at the location given.

I am sorry this was not a more positive outcome. I am always disappointed when this happens.

Message from Bonespass
Karen, I posted a message from Bonespass on your Find A Grave message board for him. He send it to my email address and ask me to post it on your board. He's related to us through Hays and Hattie Kirk by the way of the Roswell Hollifield's. Henry Jefferson Kirk's daughter Sarah was also married a Hollifield and is buried right at Hattie and Zetta and he also says that he possibly knows where Hays Kirk in Buried in Newton County. He's out of the county and should be back around the end of July. Love you Cousin, THB

Hattie Kirk
Hey Karen J. Kirk. My name is Bonespass Find A Grave # 49032026. Hattie Kirk is my great aunt. Her maiden name is Hollifield. If you would please transfer her memorial over to me please. Also I have noticed that on Kirk's born in Roswell or died in Roswell prior to May 9th 1932 you show them as being born or dying in Fulton County which is wrong. I would suggest that you change them to show Cobb County. I see that you and TBH have a pretty even split of the Kirk memorials in the old Roswell Cemetery and Green Lawn Cemetery. Sincerely, Bonespass
