Bio Photo My husband, Morris Hudson, passed away in June 2009. He had been on the Owensburg Cemetery board for 20 years. He and I took care of the plot plan and he spent a lot of time helping to keep the cemetery clean. It was because of Morris' interest in Owensburg Cemetery that I became involved in its care. Morris kept copies of obituaries of people buried at Owensburg and that is where the idea for a book about Owensburg came from. Morris was able to read the first rough draft of the book.

Thank you for all the wonderful work that you've done with the memorials at the Owensburg Cemetery. Also, thanks for linking all my Hatfield and Swango ancestors.

You have accidently placed the wrong obituary on this memorial, could you please remove it.

Oral Todd (1898-1980) edit
I really appreciate the obituary you put on Oral Todd's memorial but there is a problem, it is for his sister, Doris Todd Scoggan. I know Find A Grave doesn't quite agree that an "obituary" is a "bio" but I think it is very helpful for people researching their family. Thank you for all the work you have contributed.

RE: Leaving Bio information left with flowers
Another thought.

Every person in a grave gets a memorial. If there are twins then there are Twin #1 Hudson and Twin #2 Hudson. If you have an old cemetery with unmarked graves, you do Unknown Unknown #1, Unknown Unknown #2 and so on. I have a cemetery with 29 unmarked grave and the cemetery was not divided into plots and lots. I didn't make one memorial and say all 29 were buried there in unmarked graves. I mentioned on each memorial who was buried next to the grave and took a photo. If you don't know the first last name use "unknown" doesn't matter with the middle or the maiden. You have to realize that there is an alphabetical order search index and if the blank is empty, it confuses the search machine. Unknown falls under "U" on the index.

Read the guidelines about how the title of a memorial should be done. No punctuation unless it is in the name such as O' question markers or "()" or any other punctuation.

RE: Leaving Bio information left with flowers
Hi Linda - I have asked Linda Sharp to include an excerpt from Goodspeed's in the bio. I couldn't figure out how you requested that I be credited but thank you.

Reply: Your name was on the flower with the information so I asked her to credit you as the source instead of me. I requested the posting too by the "edit" tab on the memorial. If you don't get this done in 30 days, email the situation to Edit at and they will post it for you.

Leaving Bio information left with flowers
I don't know if you are aware but bio information left with flowers eventually gets deleted.

I saw this done by you on Tom Lackey's # 63463970, and requested your bio information to be posted on bio section of the memorial giving you credit as the source.

Please read the guidelines on the left of any memorial under "Help with Find A Grave" for more information on this subject and others.

Samuel B Roberts
One of my wife's relatives (Samuel B. Roberts) was born in Indiana, moved with his family to California, and then disappeared - no death or burial records, or future census inclusion in California. Some researchers have him returning, on his own to Indiana. Your photo of the gravestone seems to be about a "Samuel B. Roberts". Any clues or connections would be delightful!
