I started researching my husband's family several years ago when we "inherited" all the photos, newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, etc. that his grandmother had kept. I didn't want to throw it all out because it was a lifetime of memories and keepsakes so I began to organize it on a genealogy database. Then I was "hooked"!|
I accidently stumbled onto my cousin's posting on a message board while I was searching for information on MY family and this thing just took on a life of it's own.
I volunteered to take photos for Find-a-Grave after I requested and received some for my postings. It was so exciting to see the stones that I thought it would be nice to reciprocate. I also think I have a "sixth sense" or the deceased just "call to me" because since I started taking photos, I've been to cemeteries that I've never been to and I just seem to be able to walk right up to the grave! I've done it almost every time!
If I have posted something incorrectly or if I have posted something you feel is inappropriate, please email me or leave a message and I will correct it.
I am not related to any of the postings for Mifflin County, PA so I will gladly transfer memorials to a family member, no matter how distant. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB AT THE MEMORIAL TO MAKE THE TRANSFER REQUEST. It's much easier that way and all the necessary information is there.
Any photos I post here are free to be used by anyone. If you do not want me to use your photos, please do not claim my requests.

Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,
Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.
Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25feb2015. F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.
Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.
E49 Created above Statement
Mona - Thanks for linking the Bloom's together.
Regards - Tom Schoening

Thank you for finding my great grandfather's grave marker and posting a photo of it. All records up to his death were as Edward C. Seibert but I think it right to list him as he was commonly known.

Your work is appreciated. Keep at it.

Thanks. This is great stuff.
I've been hunting for my great grandmothers grave site - Matilda Mann the wife of Jacob C. Blymyer. Matilda's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Mann immigrated from Sweden and when they passed through Lewistown, Mrs. Mann along with her child died in childbirth along the Juniata River sometime in the 1850's. Jonas, left behind his youngest daughter (Matilda) to be adopted by the Alters and continued on to Minnesota with his other children - Charles Albert, Hattie and John. I have no track of that line of the Mann family.
I also have no idea where Mrs. Jonas Mann and baby are buried.
I'm driving through Lewistown on Friday June 5, 2015 on my way to Michigan and plan to stop by the cemetery and pay my respects. If you know of any folks connected to the Blymyer line, ask them to contact me at 703-370-3089 or 703-403-8721 (cell).
