I found my maternal grandparents' memorials on Find A Grave.
They are buried in east Texas, and I lived in western New York. I have never been to their graves.
Find A Grave Contributor Bill75773 randomly added them.
My mother had never seen the graves, either. Without Find A Grave, she probably never would have.
I became a contributor to help others in the same boat.
When I photograph a gravesite, I try to take both a plot photo and a closeup shot. I sometimes add plot photos to memorials that already have a closeup. This is not meant to imply that the first photo is not good enough. My only intent is to help future visitors to the cemetery to locate a grave they wish to visit. Also, in the caption of the photo, I usually give directions to the grave.
I invite you to visit the memorial for My Dad.

You're welcome. I was thinking of your screen name Barry L Seitz, very clever, and was trying to think of another good one. How about Manny Graves ("many graves")?
What is the background of the Hodlin family? I was wondering about the Pliny name. I know the original was a Roman statesman, but more recently, do you know the nation of origin? And did anyone ever call them Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger?

Pliny and Ann married in June 1964, according to my go-to site, familysearch.org. I think her maiden was Hennig, although I've seen it also as Henning. Pliny also had a son Pliny, as you prob know, which makes looking up family even more fun (the naming of sons after fathers, and daughters after mothers).. As you prob have noticed, naming daughters after mothers used to be quite common. Not so much nowadays.

Could not find any Susannah or Kathryn (Katie) Hodlin in Ansonia or anywhere in CT. But did find Katie Hodlin entry (no grave info) for Chazy, Clinton Cty, NY, born 1850. Spouse Stephen D Hodlin, children Orville D and Willis J Hodlin. Perhaps you've found this info previously.
Also, found evidence of Pliny (1913) having been divorced from Helen C Hodlin (1917-1969) with Plainville residence, ref to spouse Pliny and status DIV.
I will assume that Stephen D and Susannah were parents of Orville D who was your great grandfather, if I've figured that correctly.
Hope this helps. Take care,

Thank you for the feedback. I don't know how to reply. Can I just reply to your email??
I recognized Pliny's name because my dad was a Plainville fireman, and he would mention police officers' names at times. I am glad to have helped with your family info.
Thank you for the photographs of Sarah Cary Parris and John Parris. Your are always so kind and helpful.

Barry, added your information to Anson's memorial. Also found a Wikipedia article about the USS Abner Read (DD-526)fate and added the GPS location.
