I love doing genealogy, the search is the best part of the hunt. Now I was able to help out others and put some photograph's up on the site. I had a great time looking through the cemetery trying to connect people to their families, so they won't be forgotten.|
I live in Ashtabula County,Ohio
Please feel free to use any of my photo's as you wish, they are your relatives !! I'm just helping you on the road to further your family search. I'm very happy to take these pictures for you !!

You are welcome.
|Arthur Sturbaum||Theodore Henry Sturbaum, Sr|
I am the great great great grandson of Theodore Sturbaum. My Grandfather, Raymond Carl Sturbaum was married to Anna Peters Sturbaum, dates uncertain, because she lied about her age so no one would know she was older than Raymond. Their children (still living) are Wilbert (Bill) Sturbaum, b 8/15/1928, Marion Greene of Fairview Park Ohio, and Robert Sturbaum, Columbus, Ohio.
Bill married Helen Hill (b-Missouri India, 7/13/1937) in August of 1950. Children are Karl Sturbaum (b 7-7-1951) Chris (b 3/27/1953) Arthur(me), (b. 9/15/1954), Anne (b. 10/24/1955) and Ben (b. 4/4/1959).
|Vicki Edwards||RE: Transfer Request - Rood's|
Thanks so much for transferring the Rood memorials to me.
Re your offer to transfer the Marsh's in Ray's Corners Cemetery, there is only 1 I believe is linked to my line: Charles Marsh. So, yes, please transfer that to me (I believe he is a son of the the Marsh couple I just added).
Re the Charles Marsh memorial: I could not find that marker in the cemetery on the 19th. I really wanted to as I wanted to photograph it so I could enlarge it on my computer to try to read the inscription. So I'm wondering: if and when you return to Ray's Corners and can find the marker again, would you be willing to photograph it and send me a large image (rather than the reduced size Find A Grave prefers) to the email address on my Find A Grave Bio? That way I can magnify it and try to read the inscription.
I haven't been able to confirm that marker is for our Charles Marsh and that inscription may clinch it. Thanks so much if you have the time and inclination; if not, don't be concerned, I can see you do a lot of Find A Grave work!
Thanks again for transferring the Rood's to me. Vicki

I would like to ask if you would consider transferring 4 members of the Rood family whose memorials you manage; they are buried in the Ray's Corners Cemetery. (Jay S., Florence, Imerta A., & Emmor E. Rood)
I'm a descendant of a line created by marriage of a Marsh (John S) and Laura Rood (I just added memorials for them to the cemetery). Jay, the adult in the group is Laura's brother. I would like to write a short bio for him and connect him with other members of his family. I'm assuming you are not a descendant of the Rood family, but if you are we would be related (distant, but still related)!
Also, fyi, I walked Ray's Corners Cemetery on 19 August as part of a 2 week family history research trip. Ashtabula County was really fun to visit and the Genealogy Collection at the Geneva Library wonderful! I live in Los Angeles, California.
Thanks so much for managing these memorials and look forward to hearing from you.

You're welcome -- I'm glad I could help. I had fun getting those photos :)

Hello again RMH!
Calvary Cem0etery isn't very cooperative in looking up grave locations to Find-A-Grave photography volunteers - they'll only do 3 at a time and recently cut me off from asking for any more locations. I was trying to add locations for the very large backlog of photo reqs for the cemetery; there's over 400 requests. Those that include the grave plot get photographed first, so I'd recommend that you add that info to the Find-A-Grave memorial page. Call 216-641-7575 for the cemetery office; they'll provide you 3 locations without charging you for them.

Thank you so much for photographing & uploading pictures of my parent's headstone & grave-front & back. We appreciate the considerable time it took to do this. God bless you!
|Sherry Kelley||John Craig/Louise Keith|
This is what I love about genealogy! I believe that John Earl Craig was the step-son of Louise's sister Nell. 1920 census from Milwaukee shows a John Craig (age 47) with wife Nell (age 27) and son Jack (age 17). There is a public member tree that has Nell married to John Craig who died in 1932 in Ohio. She married Geo Cook in 1933. There is probably more info to be found.
|Mary Brownell Gleason||Joseph Pomeroy Chapin|
RMH, thank you so much for your valuable work. I had been looking for several family gravesites and you led me to them! Joseph Pomeroy Chapin was my great-great-great grandfather. You list my great-great grandmother (his daughter) as ROXA M Chapin, but in fact her name was ROXY Maria Chapin,1840-1883, buried in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson. More detail on the other children: Ruthey A., b. 1842; Harley Upson, 1850-1904. Thanks again, much gratitude to you.
