As a result my relocation, to Florida, I will no longer be available for Pennsylvania photographs or research and it will take quite some time to become as familiar with Bay County, Florida and surrounding areas, as I was in my original home area of Armstrong County, PA.
========================

Born and raised in Apollo, Pa., which was the epitome of "Small Town USA," in the 1950's. Graduated from College, taught High School Biology for 6 years and then I grew up and joined the Navy. My goal was to Serve our country and see the world at the same time and then, after one 4 year hitch, I would resume a Teaching career. Things sometimes do not work out as planned...In 1997, after spending 22 years in the Service, I retired, back to my home, in Armstrong County, PA. Retirement has enabled me to work and concentrate on the main love of my life, which is my Family and Friends and, also enabled me the time to pursue my addiction to our family history and genealogy. There has also been ample time, left over, to engage in the secondary love of my life, which is fishing. Now, there had always been an interest in family history and genealogy and these fishing pursuits of boating, canoeing and tramping the streams, in search of the wily Trout and Bass has led me to many cemeteries, which are located in out of the way places. It is to the point...and, sometimes to the chagrin and frustration of my wife, where I cannot pass by a cemetery without "exploring a little bit." Thankfully I have married a wonderful and understanding wife, who, in spite of her seeming, sometimes frustration, just winks and grins whenever I tell her about the discovery of a "New" Cemetery...and then admonishes me to be sure not to miss anyone's stone. (As if I would, Eh?)
Many of the cemeteries, in this historic area of the country, are very old...some are grown over and a lot of markers are in advanced disrepair and are illegible. I have come to believe that we are losing our heritage and history, by allowing this to happen. After discovering Find-a-Grave, it has become easy to combine my hobbies with family history and the recording of the old cemeteries in my home area.
It is my goal to record as many of the small church or family cemeteries, as possible, in Armstrong County and adjoining counties, before I am too old to get out of the rocking chair. It is a guess there are still a few years, to go, before that occurs: I hope!

Hello Mr. Soughton,
My name is Walter Neff. I saw that you are interested in James Leonard Smith. He is buried in Urey Cemetery, Indiana County, PA. He Daughter is Lottie Saunders and she had a daughter Isabelle Saunders. She is my grandmother. I would like to know your connection and do you have any information on this family you like to share. I have very little information on this family and any information you can share would be appreciated. My email address is Neffphotography@comcast.net.

Thank you,
Walter Neff

Sorry that I sent you a bad correction. I sent you her as her spouse, meant to send you George Calvin Blose. Also, in the background of that photo is a stone for the Graham family. Could you get a better one for Malissa. She is also a Blose. Thank you, Melanie

I made a trip back home and added pics to graves you so kindly transfered of my kin....so much of this cemetery is my family and my history. I wanted to again express my gratitude. My grandmother Goldie Jane Johns McAdams now has a picture of her peonies and hopefully a stone in the near future. Once again, thank you sir. Gail Kataro

Hello Burke,

I believe your correct. I've linked Effie May Dwyer as a spouse to Earl. Most likely was his first wife.

Happy fishing.

thank you for posting photos. I see his dtr in law Beatthefeet has taken the pages. I was told my cousin Otto also was deceased . I am thrilled to find out that is very incorrect. I have been looking for family for years and now knowing they are still alive makes me happy. I hope you enjoy Florida. sincerely Patricia Rairden
