This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it.|
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am personally doing work for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.
I will not cut and paste raw data from census records, death indices, etc. A nicely written bio is preferable.
Please consider using the "virtual cemetery" feature on this site to keep track of relations.
Since March 2013 I have taken over management of memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.
Please have your messages enabled if you want to correspond with me. I will not use my personal e-mail on this site. If you ask for a transfer but your messages have been disabled, I will delete your request.

You are very welcome! Are you related to Everett?

Thanks for mentioning that. I thought I noticed that as I sent it. I should have changed it.
|Sue Wilson||George M Rankin vs George E Rankin|
Unfortunately he is not the right George Rankin. Mine was on the 1920 and 1930 census in MO. He was born in 1913 in Kansas to maiden name HOPKIN no "s". The only other George E Rankin I found was born in NE and died in IL. I actually started a family tree for most of the "George Rankin" men born anywhere near 1913 and found all went to different families, no ours. There is one in Hutchinson, KS too and yep wrong one.
I ordered the death certificates of both the mother and grandmother to confirm the spelling and location. They confirmed he was in CA same address as his mother when she died, however he was not on the 1940 census. Neither was his wife. He married when he was 17 yrs old per the 1930 census and was living with his mother and step father. Just a mystery. I think I found his wife in CO and it said she was divorced. I also searched the cemeteries and marriage records around Petit MO thinking there might have been a baby that died. No luck. Thanks for your help. I will order the death certificate, but don't think even with the draft during WW2 that they would get by fudging 5 years on his age. Sue

Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I have seen the other Holman's at Rossevelt in Gardena, and quite frankly I don't know them or how they are related to the few Holman's I have there.
Thanks for asking.

Thank you so much for the picture. Its taken me 40 plus years to find Alice Myrtle and her mother Hilkie Brugmann. They left Kansas after both husbands died of coal miners lungs. Alice had one son George E Rankin. He was young when his father died and moved with his mother to California. During WW2 lots of young men left to go to war, but he was there when she died in LA hospital. I have searched high and low for him. Is there any chance he is buried beside her? Thanks so much.
