After much discussion with cousins, we now feel that Byrd is probably NOT buried in this cemetery.
Byrd's property, inherited from his father primarily, was west of this house.
This property (site of house and cemetery) was a part of the Dr Mark Andrews property of 1759. By 1801, Robert Smith (junior) sold this property as 135 acres to son William C. Smith. William Smith then sold to Newton Ford, who in turn, by 1805, sold to Stephen Cooke. The property was eventually bought by Moses A. Smith.
Virgil Wright, owner of the property, estimates the house's oldest portion as being built ca1790. This would seem to indicate that Robert Smith built the house. perhaps for his son William.
In short, we see no real connection to Byrd. We now lean towards a burial in the Smith Chapel cemetery, or perhaps another Smith Cemetery west of this location.

|Craig Kilby||Bonbrook House Cemetery, Cumberland Co|
Hello. Can you please tell me where this cemetery is located? I am working with the Virginia SAR on a book of Rev. War patriots buried in Virginia. The specific person in question is supposed to be buried here. He was Willis Wilson b. 1757, d. 1822. His stone was standing in the 1930s when this graveyard was surveyed by the WPA. I do not have any description of its location other than "7.5 miles North of Cumberland County." I am hoping that since you put some people in this graveyard here, you might know where it is. Many thanks, Craig Kilby, Lancaster, VA

Thank you for posting a basic profile of James.
Would you please consider transferring his page to me? I am well acquainted with a descendant and have not only other info from him but a good bit of James' CSA service records to add.

|Karen Stanton||Julius Midkiff death date|
I also uploaded a pic of Julius' headstone, so can you update his death date please? It's memorial # 20695373. Same with the other one as far as if you'd like to transfer interment to me that's fine too. I don't live too far away.
|Karen Stanton||Please update death date for Gilmer W. Bryant|
I have loaded a picture of the headstone for Gilmer W. Bryant (memorial ID # 20695489). Can you update the death date please? I live close by so if you'd like to transfer this interment to me that would be fine too.

I checked the back of Rosetta's stone and her husband is not engraved there. Sorry, could not find him among the "pieces" piled around.
