W. A. Headley F.A.G. 71473927
I am working on a Headley family tree, I believe that W.A. Headley F.A.G. 71473927 at Chestnut Creek Cemetery, Chilton County, Alabama is the son of Enoch Headley 1907-1945, F.A.G. 20713284. His full name is William Arthur Headley born in 1924 he died in 1965 in Kilby prison, Montgomery County, Alabama. It is said that with the help of his mother Avis, William killed his father. I cannot find any information on who Avis was nor what happened to her after Enoch's death if you have any information you would share please e-mail me.

RE: John L Thomas, #71528971
Hi, David, I very much appreciate all the work you have done. It must have taken many, many hours, and I thank you. In addition to what you have done to honor those who have gone before us, your efforts have been very beneficial to those of us who are unable to travel to visit the grave sites of family. Probably most (if not all) of your Thomas, Edwards, and Dennis entries are related to me either by blood or by marriage, so I owe you a huge debt.

I started to ask for a transfer, but then intended to find out whether you were also a descendant of my great-great-grandfather's, and I ended up doing neither. But yes, I would be very happy to have his memorial. Thank you!

John L Thomas, #71528971
David, I had corrected the name to reflect what is on the gravestone and on all known records, but I see that someone has put the spurious middle name of Lynch back in. Lynch is completely unfounded and appears to have been invented by someone who is not a descendant and who may not even be related at all. It should not be used here (or elsewhere, for that matter.)

There were men in this area named John Lynch, including a brother-in-law to two of John L Thomas's sisters. One sister, Nancy, named one of her sons John Thomas Lynch, and it is possible that that name is what confused the person who started this error.

John L Thomas's middle name has long been said to be Lewis; however, that is also unproven, so until proof is found, the name should remain as John L Thomas, by which name he is repeatedly found, including his gravestone, in court documents, and elsewhere.

David E Kendrick # 71512867
I found a death record for David Ellington Kendrick who died 28 Feb 1934 in Bessemer, Alabama. He is from Chilton County. You have a memorial for David E Kendrick with the same death date but with different parents. I was wondering if you were sure about the parents of this David Kendrick. Is it possible they were Harrison Kendrick and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Anthony? His death record says he is buried in Chestnut Cemetery but his father is Harrison Kendrick. The mother on the record is incorrect. Sarah Connell is his mother-in-law not mother. Thanks for your time.

RE: Ida Alice Curlee
David: Many thanks for your prompt action. It's most appreciated! Here are the connections for you. James Meredith Curlee's parents are: William H. "Willy" Curlee (1817-1899) and California Ann Prickett Curlee (1830-1908), both of whom are buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery and are on the Find A Grave website.
Here are two interesting biographical notes. James Meredith was the fraternal twin of Mariah, who is linked as a daughter of William and California. At the time of James Meredith's death, he was Chief of Police of Clanton, AL and was hit by a train right in the middle of town. The story is that he was trying to assist a lady and her baby, but that's something I can't confirm.
James Meredith's year of death is 1927, which is shown on the grave marker and also in the newspaper article about his death.
Hopefully, I can provide you with more links.
Thanks again for your help,
Steve Curlee
