Bio Photo Update John sadly passed away on Oct. 10, 2015 very suddenly at home. He was my best friend and my partner in all things. We traveled many, many miles to out of the way cemeteries, old cemeteries, and town cemeteries to photograph tombstones. John did all the work of cleaning, digging out (sometimes) and just making the stone more readable so I could take a picture.

I will miss him so very, very much.

RE: Re: Elma/Alma Houston #45367616
First of all thank you for all you efforts. We will try and embellish information as we can.

Elma/Alma is shown in the 1900 federal Census in Miller with husband Charles and her 4 oldest girls as Alma and the family tradition is she was called Alma. However, if you look at the ages, which are correct, you will note how young she was when she had her first child. She and Charles took off to Oregon for a couple of years to hide the age issue and the name change may have occurred as a part of that. The headstone may have been Charles' attempt to set the record straight. He really did adore her and never remarried after she died at a very young age (33).

Glenda Faye Richey
Re: Glenda Faye Richey
Hello, We were able to take a photo of the stone with Glenda's death date etched. I posted it to her memorial so you might want to delete your earlier photo that doesn't have her death date on it.

You should probably send this to Jim, {Joyce's husband}. I didn't enter this lady into Find A Grave, but Jim did. He is my uncle, & he created a gmail email page for me, & doing so thru his Aol page, Joyce's name shows on my gmail page. I wish I knew how to change it but I don't.
Sorry for the inconvience.

T.R. Ripee
Diane and John,

I am so sorry but I do not know how to Edit on this site.

The correct spelling is RIPPEE as appears on the gravestone. Thank you for this, my family has been trying to find where he was buried for close to 100 grandfather, Thomas Richard Rippee's son, did not remember the town since he was 16 when he died and only knew they buried him in Texas near the Red River and returned to Arkansas.

Again, my sincere thanks for what you two do.
