I was born in Montgomery County MS but now live in Baldwin County, AL. Many of my relatives are buried in Montgomery County, Webster County, Carroll County and Choctaw County, MS. Some of the families I have been researching are Lemuel Dacus, Joshua Garrett, Reason Evans, William Wallace Garner, Thomas Grantham, Eli Dendy, Anderson Austin, Charles Poole, Washington Jackson, Phillip Carroll, Daniel McDonald Slaughter and Tristram Thomas. I am in possession of one of the rare, out-of-print books titled "History of Montgomery County." There is a wealth of information in this book about early settlers of Montgomery County, Choctaw County, Carroll County and Webster County. I am happy to share info.

RE: Whitfield Clifford Thralkill
Hi Pat,

I thought it might have been a typo, but wanted to catch it so it wouldn't get copied. The info you gave Beth was great, thanks for the write-up.

I did see the info on the Duck Hill train accident already. My husband thought that maybe W.E. Daniels and Clifford Thrailkill were both Free Masons, or it could just be that he knew the family. I think he may have taken him to Grenada because it was one of the closest towns to the accident. I haven't found his grave yet, but I keep looking every so often to see if someone has set up a memorial on F.A.G.

Thanks,
Gerrie

RE: Stanley Bates & Mildred
The Nancy Harrison I have was married to a George Bell. Harrison was her maiden name from what I can tell unless she re-married. And thank you! Hopefully the book will have something. We're at a genealogical standstill on Stanley Bates. We know he may have gone by Edward. It's all very confusing.

Bates family
I noticed you put up the obituary for Mildred Irene Box Bates. She was great grandmother and we have very little information on her family. Specifically her husband Stanley. I was wondering if you know anything or have any information.

RE: Cooks in King Cemetery
Patricia, I am not related to the Cooks buried at King Cemetery. My only family connection is to James & Margaret Brent buried there. I got involved with the cemetery when I got in touch with a Wadill descendent still living in the area. She is currently trying to clean-up King cemetery. She had a 1976 inventory of the cemetery, which I volunteered to make memorials for on F.A.G. I did find an 1880 census with the Cooks living in McDonough Co on Ancestry. Are you on Ancestry? Let me know if I can be of further help. Robin
