I currently live in Washington State. |
My ancestors lived in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana from about 1760 to 1930 when my parents moved to Baton Rouge. My mother was born in Marksville and my father in Bordelonville. Several generations of my ancestors are buried at St. Joseph in Marksville and at St. Peter in Bordelonville as well as other cemeteries in the Parish.

I have added the requested links. I lived very close to Resthaven in Baton Rouge so it is very easy to take photos of headstone markers if you have some you would like. Thanks, Ken

I have been told that Eugene St. Romain b.14 May 1829 and died 15 June 1857 is buried in St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Mansura, La. He died in Marksville. He is not listed with the St. Romains in the cemetery. Can someone tell me how I might prove his death date and burial. Would love to have a picture of his tombstone, if it exists.
Many thanks in advance.

Thanks, Jerry. I've linked Edith to her parents. She was my grandfather's sister-in-law.

Hey Jerry, wanted to say thanks for the gravestone photo and bio information. My relative is Hubert Paul Chatelain, he fought on U.S.S. South Dakota and had a battle Ship U.S.S. Chatelain named after him, just like the information said. Was just curious how you obtained the information. Thanks again
