Bio

I'm a life-long resident of North Carolina. My Find A Grave documentation is focused on the descendants of Charles Johnson of Strawberry Hill Plantation in Chowan County, N.C. near Edenton. He came to Edenton, Chowan County, N.C. from England in 1775. He was born with the surname "Johnston" or "Johnstone" in Scotland. In 1785, he married Elizabeth Earl, a daughter of Reverend Daniel Earl of Bandon Plantation in Chowan County. Charles and Elizabeth Johnson had one child who survived, Charles Earl Johnson of Bandon Plantation. Charles Earl Johnson's 1807 marriage to Ann Williams Taylor of Franklin County, N.C. produced children who married into the Henderson family of Granville and Rowan Counties, N.C.; the Skinner family of Perquimans County, N.C.; the Iredell family of Chowan County, N.C.; the Granbery family of Perquimans County, N.C; the Baker family of Gates County, N.C. and the Smith family of Halifax County, N.C. My Find A Grave entries mainly focus on the descendants of these marriages.

My Find A Grave research also relates to the Wilhelm Huters family of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the Maunsel White family of New Orleans, Louisiana, the Snipes family of Isle of Wight County, Virginia, the Wilson family of Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties in North Carolina and the family of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins of the Mayflower.
