Bio and Links
Bio Photo The attached photo is from 411 N. Wilmington St. Raleigh NC, my mother's childhood home. A home which no longer exists along with many others in the surrounding area between Peace College and the State Capitol.

I have a interest in Wake Co genealogy researching primarily family connections here for the last 5 years. My surnames include Carver, Gill, John Davis d Aug 1829, Dunn, High, Horn, Moring, and Taylor(Nash Co) maternal line.

Surnames in Rockingham and Caswell Co include Alcorn AKA Alcon,Betts,Fitzgerald,Mills,Nunnally,Powell,Robertson,Stubblefield paternal line and so many more families with ties to these counties and beyond.

A resident of Somerset Co, NJ for 28 years.

I've posted many photos from the NC yearbook collection which are available on at line at ncgenweb.us/nc/bookshelf/yearbooks/ The vast majority of photos I have used are from 1930 and earlier yearbooks. After contacting several schools over the use of these photos and copyright law, I have been told as long as I'm not profiting from them and have listed the source, I'm in compliance with the law under the guideline of fair use. As of early 2012 and ancestry including yearbooks on their website, the issue of photos and copyright issues would appear to be a mute point. If a family member wishes me to remove any photo I have posted, just let me know.

Most memorials I have added are to Oakwood & Montlawn. Genealogy is my first love. I enjoy finding the elusive badly transcribed records that help document a family. I think the 1940 Wake census on ancestry may be the worst yet. As of Jan 2015, I can identify 5000+ individuals in my extended tree that are buried at Oakwood, 3000+ at Montlawn with a total database of 76,900+. Any memorial I add will based on a combination of death, census and Oakwood records. The memorial's and photo's I add are done so with much respect to that individual, their family and the history of North Carolina. I try to link memorials or add other details that may be useful to someone's research. The majority of the memorials will be part of my Wake County "Six Degrees of Separation" Tree. Visits to Oakwood in Aug 2012 & Aug 2013 to take photos.

My findagrave wish list would be a paper scroll symbol to signify there is a paper document which would leave the portrait symbol for actual pictures of people.

I do like to link and if I have not, it is just an oversight on my part. Thanks to all that help with my suggestions/requests and the new edit feature which makes that so much easier now.

My memorials are frequently revisited and updated especially since finding additional records at familysearch.org which ancestry does not have. These records are available to all researchers. Their records include death certificates 1931-1994 and a marriage collection thru 1979. May I respectfully suggest, anyone posting current deaths without a birthdate revisit your memorials and get the birthdate from the social security index which is also available on familysearch.org.

News Bank Obit and Obituaries from the News & Observer starting @ 1991 are available thru your library.

PLEASE refrain from death certficates on my memorials. It should not be necessary in most cases.

It has recently come to my attention the GPS location for individuals buried at Oakwood can be found in the recently updated database. Find your individual within the official Oakwood database and then click on Map. If you're requesting a photo for any of my memorial's at Oakwood let me know and I will update the location.

If you add an obituary clipping to any of my memorial's, please let me know. It may contain information I do not have.

Nancy Norwood Hunter
Danna. Do you know where she is buried? I am a great granddaughter - her son Voyle V. Hunter was my grandfather. I see that Weldon is buried in Oakwood with his second wife but I can't find Nancy. Thanks so much.

Find A Grave Memorial# 96385550
Hi,

By chance do you have any additional information on Henry's siblings? I'm particularly interested in Minnie O. Murray's death certificate and Find A Grave records.

Minnie married Robert Lee Hayes, my grandfather (Find A Grave Memorial# 98324094). They had: Margaret (Maggie) Neal Hayes Huddleston, James Sexton Hayes and George Lee Hayes who are now all deceased. Robert remarried Cornelia Louise Lee and both are burred at Montlawn.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Regards, Mary

Danna -- What would people searching Findagrave do without someone like you who shares so much information with others? Getting additional information for memorials is always welcome, and future generations will thank you and all of us for work well done! Especially you, my friend.....

LostGeneration
Multiple last names
Latest naming conventions:

Last Name as you would find it on the tombstone, if the interred had more than one marriage or other possible spellings please place this information in the bio and use the family links. Do not include honorary or other suffixes in the Last Name field.

People who search for her by last name will not find her, she can only be search on Cross or Cross Johnson, so the memorial will likely be duplicated at some point with the correct naming convention.

Certainly your call to do it however you want.

Dana, thanks for pointing out the error. Death date was January 2, 1913. I just did not check the entry as I should have. December was their wedding month - too many entries and links at one time I guess.

Thanks for your contributions and I always welcome any comments or corrections.

Hi, I would like to speak with you about a recent record I saw that you are affiliated with for James Beckwith Thackston. He is a relative of the Taylor family as well and I'm trying to figure out the connection. Please email me at Jamie_newell@ymail.com so we can connect on this.

Thanks!

You have linked Lillie Carrie Wilson Collins to "Duplicate Non-Cemetery Burial" memorials for her parents that were created in July 2013. I have sent you the correct links to my memorials which were created in Sep 2011, in the correct cemetery. I just discovered this error. I would deeply appreciate it if you would accept the edit. It appears the owner of the duplicates created duplicates of 5 of my 8 memorials for that cemetery so she could link them to her own photos. If she sent you the links, may I suggest you check any other links she sent to make sure they are not links to other "duplicate" memorials.

Thank you
