Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for many many years and really like findagrave.com. I used to do just my own family but now do cemeteries where ever we go. If someone sees anything that is wrong or if you have anything to offer please contact me as I would be glad to help.

Use the edit function for transfers. Include your contributor number so I get the right person.
Find-A-Grave guidelines for transfer requests are for direct relatives (spouse, siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents). If you are requesting a transfer, please be specific about your relationship. I generally will not transfer aunts, uncles or cousins. I am not willing to transfer my family members, but I will be happy to add information to their memorials.

I have no objection to transferring memorials of your close relatives. Please be sure to tell me the relationship. I will no longer transfer memorials to someone asking for all memorials of a surname to be transferred to them.
There are lots of new members requesting transfers who are managing many more memorials than they have posted. Please keep in mind that this web site won't work if you aren't willing to go out and gather information that might help someone else!

Whitefish Cemetery
That was one thing that I worried about when I first started entering the spreadsheets--what if there were tons of errors? Mostly I worried that maybe whole columns of birth or death dates could have been shifted up or down a few spaces, but that hasn't happened yet that I know of.

This Whitefish Cemetery has turned out to have more transcription errors than all but a handful of others, and I sure appreciate all the extra time it is taking you to get them corrected. But at least it's a lot easier than it would have been a year ago when you had to type all the info in the old-style SACs.

Thankfully most people's cemetery lists didn't contain too many errors. When an occasional one does, however, it sure makes me wonder how that came about. Maybe someone copied an old copy that was hard to read...because from all the pictures you've added it sure doesn't seem like all that many stones would have been hard to read.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the additional info you added to Bill's memorial with the "Application for Headstone or Marker", signed by Harry Pearson, with application checked Christian & Flat Bronze Marker. Very interesting.
Thanks again for all of your memorials & links in Union Parish and for the memorials you recently added for Thomas Pearson and Frances "Frankie" Boatright Pearson Goyne.
My best and I really appreicate your help.

I am not requesting a transfer, I am wondering more so if you know any information on this person. I believe this to possibly be the oldest son of the second family of my 3x great grandfather.
Thanks for anything in advance.

Transfers
Just the other day I refused a transfer to another member. I am usually more than generous with transfers, however this member had entered only about 300 memorials and was managing over 2000. Most of them were note related but were just people she was doing research on. Most of the ones she had listed were not in cemeteries, just listed as burial locations unknown.
So I have the same feelings about transfer as you. If they are working and contributing to the site, I have no problem working with them.
This was the only transfer I ever declined.
Thanks for all your contributions on Findagrave.

Jim C.
