Thank You for the write up concerning Elizabeth Poet Schoenenfelt. I have just discovered this family line and was thrilled to learn I am her 8th Great Grand Daughter. I have linked my tree to this post and given you credit for the information. I am still new at all of the research.

Thank you for responding. I found out that the remains that were not claimed were reintered in the Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill Pa. The area has just one monument to commerate all those there.

I confess I am the guy who prompted this latest spate of Longshore prohto requests. I'm trying to weed the more problematic requests from the Philadelphia National Cemetery photo request list, and fix them, if possible, so they don't come back. I started a forum thread to talk about what we might do about them. Some of the mysteries are more solvable than others. Follow along or join in!

I understand the Longshores were removed to a mass grave near Neshaminy Mall.

|Harry Lummis||American Mechanics Cemetery|
thank you for the information. I did realize it was defunct and was trying to discover just where it had been. I saw your bio and the involvement you have had with history in the area. Do you know how I might be able to find information on burials in the cemetery and where they were moved to? Also, were the American Mechanics a trade union or an organization similar to the Mason?
