Thank you for the info on Lula Mae Wallace. I appreciate it much.
|B. Roberts||Julian Giles|
Thanks for the info. I also found his dad.
Thanks so much for transferring her memorial to me. I was trying to delete the duplicate photo that was added yesterday but I do not seem to be able to. Are you able to do so as the original creator of the page or can only the person who added the photo subsequently delete it?

|Randi Rivenbark||Juanita Wells Herring|
I received the information on Juanita Wells Herring. Thank you. I was able to fill out more of my tree with it. Would you like to take over the entry for her and any other Wells or Herrings buried at Herrings Chapel? My great-grandmother was Eliza Jane Herring McLendon, but I never knew her or any other Wells or Herrings. I made an ancestry tip a few years ago and took all the photos I could at Herrings Chapel and entered them to findagrave. I live on the western side of the state and do not receive news from the eastern side. If you live closer it would make more sense to turn it over to you. Thanks again.
|JimO||William Read Memorial 78533662|
2nd Lt. William Woodgate Read was a member of A Company, 192nd Tank Battalion. He was stationed in the Philippine Islands on December 7, 1941. Ten hours after Pearl Harbor, his battalion was guarding Clark Airfield when the Japanese bombed the airfield.
On December 30, 1941, his tank came under enemy fire. An enemy shell hit one of the tank tracks immobilizing it. He climbed out of the tank, while it was under fire, and was helping his tank crew out of the tank, when an enemy shell hit the tank near him mortally wounding him.
One of his crew members, Ray Underwood, held Read in his hands as he was dying. Other tank crew members went for help but failed to return before the area was overrun by the Japanese. Underwood held Lt. Read, in his arms, until he died.
Pvt. Ray Underwood later died of disease in a Japanese POW Camp in Japan.

|Mike Whaley||Lockamy info|
I stand corrected. John Lockamy and Mildred McGowan did have one son, John Robert Lockamy.
|Mike Whaley||McGowan error|
The information on Mildred McGowan is erroneous. She was the daughter of Major H. McGowan and his wife, Elizabeth Hobbs of Onslow County. She had two children out of wedlock before marrying John Lockamy. No children by this marriage.
|Tom Howland||Mary Gaskill|
Mary Gaskill, wife of William J. Caroon, was the only surviving child of Joseph Gaskill & Elicia D. Howland of Beaufort, NC. Elicia Howland, 11/6/1858-9/3/1900, was the dau. of Samuel Howland, b. 1817, & Mary Canaday of Beaufort.
Elicia Howland Gaskill is buried in the "Old Burying Ground" In Beaufort, NC.
The siblings & parents attributed to Elicia on Find A Grave are complete errors.
