I am a life-long resident of South Carolina. I was born in Sumter but have spent most of my life in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. The passion for genealogy was instilled in me by my maternal grandmother in 1975. Although I have spent many hours in archives, universities and courthouses, my most enjoyable times searching for kin is in walking through cemeteries. There is really nothing more relaxing and soothing! My biggest regret is not understanding "family" while my great-grandparents were alive. The stories I lost...|
I appreciate any photos of individuals added as well as obituaries and/or death certificates. If you don't feel comfortable adding recent records, then may I suggest using 1940 as the cut-off date as is the policy of the Census Bureau. I firmly believe that we should provide as much info as possible to aid others searching our families.
To that end, you have my permission to use any photo that I have added. The only restriction is that proper credit be given. This applies only to photographs of people I have added. I personally do not believe that photographs of headstones are anyone's personal property. Rest assured that I will abide by the rules of individual contributors even when I disagree with them.

Have you been requested not to submit a photo for the grave of Helen R Witherspoon in the McCormick City Cemetery?

Claude Dinkins was my father's fishing buddy; and Betty Nash Smith was my mother's good friend at Manning High School. Then, she and I became friends through our DAR chapter. Small world in Sumter/Clarendon counties, isn't it? I love it!!!
Thanks!! I trust your edits completely.

Bryson: I noticed your name as a contributor to FindaGrave, and noted also that you had Dunlap in your genealogy lineage. Would you please email me direct regarding your Dunlap ancestors. I have Dunlap in my lineage and are at a stump, thought you might be able to shed some light.
