Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy genealogy and history and I think thats why I like findagrave so much. We can build online memorials for our families and friends so that they will never be forgotten. I think preservation of history and the facts is important for future generations so that they can look back at how they became who they are and look forward with hope for the future and to who they might become.

"Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart."

Donna I see you used my info I sent you but you forgot to paste the I on Ignatious name as you can see below.

gnatious Nathan Gann was born 1759 in VA, and married about 1777 first wife name unknown in Virginia. Then married his second wife Susan about 1791 in Tennessee. Susan was born abt 1759 in Washington Co., TN. Ignatious died 18 Jul 1839 in Washington Co., TN and was buried on his farm there. Susan died about 1810 in Washington Co, TN and was also buried on his farm.

Also you need to remove the photo please that is not Ignatious Nathan Gann.

And new info there is a dup memorial for him in the Salem Cem. called Pvt Ignatious Nathan Gann. It is newer than yours and I find it so interesting that the headstone pics are the same is amazing isn't it makes one wonder where the headstone really is. The lady has her name on them as if she took the pictures herself.

Here you go wish Find A Grave would crack down of dups it really creats a mess! Contact her if you wish

Thought you might find this interesting.

The oldest surviving permanent photograph of the image formed in a camera was created by Niépce in 1826 or 1827.

[1] It was made on a polished sheet of pewter and the light-sensitive substance was a thin coating of bitumen, a naturally occurring petroleum tar, which was dissolved in lavender oil, applied to the surface of the pewter and allowed to dry before use.[11] After a very long exposure in the camera (traditionally said to be eight hours, but in fact probably several days),[12] the bitumen was sufficiently hardened in proportion to its exposure to light that the unhardened part could be removed with a solvent, leaving a positive image with the light regions represented by hardened bitumen and the dark regions by bare pewter.[11] To see the image plainly, the plate had to be lit and viewed in such a way that the bare metal appeared dark and the bitumen relatively light.[9]
In partnership, Niépce (in Chalon-sur-Saône) and Louis Daguerre (in Paris) refined the bitumen process,[13] substituting a more sensitive resin and a very different post-exposure treatment that yielded higher-quality and more easily viewed images. Exposure times in the camera, although somewhat reduced, were still measured in hours.[9]

One of the oldest photographic portraits known, made by Joseph Draper of New York, in 1839[10] or 1840, of his sister, Dorothy Catherine Draper.
