Bio and Links
Bio Photo I believe the ones who have left this life need to be remembered however great or small. Findagrave is a great place to do that with a memorial for them. Linking a family together is truly a great thing to do. Although optional I believe a photo of their marker, a photo of the person, or a little information about the person really adds to the memorial. A flower, flag, ribbon or a note also adds to the memorial.

A lot of the information I enter is from death certificates, from birth indexes, from census records, and from social security death indexes. Some of this information can be wrong. If you find any errors let me know. I want correct information. If you see duplicate memorials let me know. If you have any information about the people I have entered that you want me to add let me know. If you want a person linked to their parents or spouse let me know.

NOTE: Please use the edit button in the upper right hand corner of the memorial page to send corrections, additional information and link requests. This makes it so much easier for me to add it this way. Thank you for your help with this.

You can use my photos on your family trees. I used to think differently about that but as I get older I see things a little differently now. They are just photos but they can mean a lot to people who can't get to where their family members are resting.

May God bless all those who have helped me with information for the memorials I have entered. If I have offended anybody let me know and I will try to make it right. May God bless everyone who is dedicated to adding memorials to Findagrave. Its not about numbers but about remembering each and every person who has lived. These memorials are not our memorials, they belong to Findagrave. We are just contributors who add the memorials and information and then manage them. Thank you Findagrave for the greatest website on the internet and for letting us be a part of this great website.

Pvt. Hezekiah Carpenter
I am trying to find the grave location of Pvt. Hezekiah B. Carpenter of Co C "Anson Guards", 14th NC Regiment. Enlisted 22 Apr 1861 as a Pvt. at age 23 years. I am most confident that he is the son of David and Elizabeth Carpenter who are buried at Concord United Methodist in Ansonville.

David is my G-G-Granduncle and the son of Pvt. Isaac Carpenter the Revolutionary War soldier who was in the 26th NC Militia.

Here is a written story on Pvt. Hezekiah B. Carpenter from the book HISTORY OF COMPANY "C" 14TH REGIMENT N.C.V. ARMY OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA by Maj. W. A. Smith of Ansonville.

"Hezekiah B. Carpenter son of David Carpenter of Cedar Hill. The zeal and courage of youth was his obedient to authority. Born himself manfully i battle - never missed a fight, wounded at Cedar Creek, recovered, returned to help Marse Roberts at Appomattox, and in obedience to his orders surrendered his gun and accouterments. Afterwards made his home in the Lone Star State."

I suspect that he is probably buried at Concord UMC or possibly around Polkton and maybe Red Hill Baptist.

Any knowledge you may share or assistance in location Hezekiah Carpenter would be most appreciated.

Listing For Kelly Morris Lisenby

I made an edit of Daddy's name as it was showing on the Find A Grave listing to the correct spelling, "Kelly" Morris Lisenby. That was the correct spelling of his name.
Thank you for all the extra work you put into your memorials. It really means a lot to us.

Thanks again,

Andrew Lisenby

Deep Creek Cemeteries
I have a research project for you! I found an application for military marker for James Clayton Hunter (#127166773), colored, who is supposed buried at "Deep Creek Colored Baptist Cemetery." Is this cemetery listed on Find A Grave as "Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery" or "West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery" where his mother is buried? (Mary Hunter, #127167336). I would appreciate a photo if you can locate his marker at either cemetery. Thanks! Julie

Thank you for all of your hard work! It has helped me immensely as I have been seeking to document the descendants of Rev John D. McFarland; my great, great, great, great grandfather.

Hi Julious,

I sent you a msg about an edit to add parents to one of my relatives and then I looked at your bio and notes. I just wanted to say how very touching your sentiments are! I almost cried. I wish findagrave had thousands more like you! I agree with everything you had to say, especially about sharing pictures. It's always so wonderful to find additional information or pictures on your relatives and loved ones. It's a treat when you find someone, such as yourself, that has such a large heart and willingness to make findagrave a wonderful spot to honor those that have gone before and to be able to share that information with your family and friends, keeping their memories alive forever. You have my humble thanks! Bless you!
