My name is Don, and I live in LaGrange, GA. I spent most of my life in Maryland, but when I retired, I move to GA. Since 2007, I have been the GA GenWeb manager for Troup County, GA, and have made extensive surveys of the smaller cemeteries in Troup County, GA. My GenWeb website can be found below.|
I have extended my work to several additional cemeteries in either Troup County, or in counties near the Troup County line. I am currently computerizing the cemetery database for Troup County Archives. and have records for almost 22,000 graves in about 300 cemeteries. If you need help in Troup County, GA, I will be glad to help.
I enjoy researching cemetery gravestones. If I have listed a grave for which you are related, and you desire to actually manage that grave, let me know and I will transfer control.

I would like to request permission to use your headstone photos for W A Whitaker # 61804358 and W A Whitaker # 61804392 on my Ancestry Family Tree.
Thank you for all the hard work you do in photographing the cemeteries in your area. This is hard work I KNOW I have taken photos of a couple of small cemeteries in my area.

|Juliet Morgan||Sarah Morgan Wilcox|
I found the memorial for Sarah Morgan Wilcox in Hillview Cemetery in La Grange, for which you are the manager. Sarah Morgan Wilcox was a distant cousin of mine, I suppose. My Ancestry tree relationship calculator says she was my 2nd cousin, 3x removed. :)
But, apparently she was the last known person to possess the Family Bible in which my Morgan ancestors birth, death, and marriage dates were recorded. While I'm tracking down her descendants, I noticed your "bio" on your profile and your willingness to help people find graves. I'm looking for the grave of Thomas Barber Morgan and his wife, Eliza May Bruce Chivers Morgan.
I have gathered some obituaries and other documents and I believe that Thomas Barber Morgan was born in 1801 and died in either 1876 or 1877. His wife, Eliza, was born in 1807 and died in 1887. Now, Eliza did die in Decatur County, Georgia, in the home of her son, Dr. Ellington John Morgan; however, I believe that Thomas Barber Morgan was still living in Troup County at the time of his death.
At least two of their children are buried in Hillview Cemetery: Frances Barber Morgan and Dr. William Sallard Morgan. There are U.S. Census Records for this family in Troup county from 1830 through 1870. Frances "Fannie" Morgan never married, it seems, but she raised William Sallard Morgan's two sons after both he and his wife died. Sarah Morgan Wilcox was a daughter of William Ellington Morgan, a son of Dr. William Sallard Morgan. She was married to John Walter Wilcox and they had one son, John Walter Wilcox, Jr. who is supposedly still living (born in 1930).
Would it be possible for you to check for graves for Thomas Barber Morgan and his wife Eliza? They are not listed in Hillview Cemetery but, that is where I think they would be buried, if they are buried in Troup County. If they aren't buried there, my next place to search is Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia... as that is where their son, Dr. Ellington John Morgan is buried... and where Eliza was supposedly living/staying at the time of her death in 1887.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,

Out of curiosity, do you remember names on tombstones surrounding Odessa Johnson..Find A Grave Memorial# 102095451?
|Martha McCaffrey Dobbins||Shadowlawn Cemetery|
Thank you for your time and effort in locating and photographing Odessa's tombstone. That photo just solved a mystery as to her last name. Now I can let everyone know and there will be no more confusion. Thank for your help. I suppose if the plot number had not been available we would have never found her.

How many graves are here? Is this accessible? I am thinking of going out there. Are there inscriptions that are readable? There should be several of my Jones and Mobley ancestors buried there.

Thanks for noticing the correction has been made
You have added a grave picture to Osborn Brown in the Conf. Cemetery in Troup. Ma I use it in my research? (I did the memorial)
