I first became interested in genealogy when my grandmother, Rubye Mae Steele Brooks began to research the family tree and told me about the interesting things she was finding. This was before the internet, so she was doing a lot of travelling and letter writing. I started gathering stories from my other grandparents and eventually started seriously researching. My brother, Randy, (RTB) told me about Find A Grave and it was a beautiful extension of my genealogy research. I have come across others with a lot more information than I have and am grateful for all the people out there who are willing to put info and pictures from all the graveyards and memorial gardens around the country. Thank you all. |
If you would like to take ownership of any memorial I have submitted, just let me know. I have added many memorials just based on the fact that I have relatives in the same cemetery. I am pleased when I am contacted by someone who knew of or cared for a person for whom I have established a memorial. I hope they all are found by someone who cares. I will transfer them gladly if I am not related.
I stole the following from Gennaphyr, but I wholeheartedly agree!
I grant anyone the right to use my photos for any purpose, without any conditions. As the copyright holder of my photos, I release them into the public domain.
However, if you don't see my name under the photo then that photo does not belong to me and you will need to contact that individual Find a Grave member for permission to use their photo.
You don't need to kiss my foot for a transfer. I love being able to transfer memorials I have created to family and friends (to me that is a Find A Grave success story)
Still active 2015.

|Sue||Betty Lou Spoonamore|
I already added the photo for Betty Lou Spoonamore when I took the photo of her husband's stone, their names are both on the stone. Someone also placed a cross on the grave that absorbs light from the sun.

|Bob Morgan||Maud Young Mem# 40455466|
Maud Young was the daughter of John Gwinnup and Hester Clause Gwinnup. I have not found their graves yet.
Are you related to the Patterson family? I noticed a picture you had posted that has Jesse Patterson and all his siblings. Jesse Patterson would have been my Great Great Grandfather. If you are related I'm curious how you are connected. I am currently trying to create a Patterson Family Tree.
