|Rene Sharrock||WW2 Pen Pal Letters|
Hi, I have several WW2 pen pal letters written to a relative of mine from Durango, Colorado.
I would like to somehow contact the living relatives of the men that wrote the letters to see if they might like the letters.
Do you have any tips that might help me locate these families? I've searched on Find A Grave and the internet.
All I have at this point is a name, rank and return address (usually a military base...)
|Kurt Barickman||James Brandt|
Hi, I am researching James Brandt as well who was from Fairmont MN and was KIA with the 2nd Marine Division on Saipan. I noticed that you had a photo and the scan from the Martin County Minnesota WWII Veteran book, those are quite scarce and was wondering you came across that? Lt. Brandt's body was repatriated to Fairmont MN at the request of his Mother Mayphene after the war and was reburied at the St. John Vianney Catholic Cemetery in Fairmont MN. I have a few photos of his grave here.

You might want to see the story (which I used to help me verify the one on his info) at:
It is shown under "Pearl Harbor" ....

Jeff, You're very welcome. I think it gives everyone a better understanding of what these men had to endure and sacrifice. Best, Brent

Thank you for this memorial. He was my uncle that I never met.I wonder if you could link his parents to this site.
His mother is Maggie Gillespie, #50975407 and his dad is Glen, #50975405
Very much appreciate your help.
