I am an retired electrical engineer who got into family research a few years ago. Now am an adict on finding family history I live in Michigan, which itself is a font of history, and have found that my family were pioneers and have famous connections, much of which I hadn't known about. Taking pictures of headstones connected to the family has helped tidy up family relationships, since with the headstone dates, a person can go and look up old newspapers for more data. Along with some other sites like ancestry.com, findagrave is a nice way to leave some of that history to be found by others.|

Thank you. I have not found anything on Clara yet. It would be interesting to find a ship list on the family. The 3 boy's would've been so young if they just came over with their father.
Joseph and Elizabeth did marry here. I found the record on the Emmet County Clerks site.
Will keep searching :)

My mom's family is from the Brutus/Pellston area. Living in Harbor you must know the Hoffman line I am tracing? They are the Louis A Hoffman Nursery Family, which I have been trying to get in touch with Gerald Hoffman's kids but am having no luck. It's funny how we all connect somewhere's down the line :)

In my reply to you I meant to say the 1880 census, not the 1930. That was in Bear Creek, Emmet, Michigan.
|Jana Marie Lashmit||RE: Barbara (Hofmann) Paulus|
The 1870 Census sounds right. Matthias is in Greenwood also. I think there was only one child born to John and Barbara. Joseph was born in 1879 in Michigan. The next oldest sibling there is quite a gap. The 1930 census also shows in John's household a step daughter Mary Smith age 6. So I am guessing that this Barbara was married to a Smith. I haven't found much on this family. Have no clue what Barbara's maiden name was. Do thank you for the edit. If you happen to find anymore info on them please let me know. Appreciate it :) By the way, your name is very familiar. By chance are you from the Brutus/Pellston area?

I am totally confused-you have Elizabeth as a daughter of Asa and Hannah-but children for Elizabeth being born 1806 which is 2 years before Hannah was even born. There is a Barnett family history site-I have written to that site also to help figure this out-he has Elizabeth d/o Asa and Hannah as married to John Mathias Barnett not Jacob. I am very confused. There is another Elizabeth Barnett born 1829 which would fit with Asa and Hannah better-maybe the 2 Elizabeth just need to be swapped.

just a quick note-Rachel's parent's are on the site but not linked to Rachel's page-
Joseph Absolom Thurman
Eveline Frances McCarty
|kathy marsh||paul ault and treva j bennett|
quick question-on paul's page you have the marriage listed at jan 17 and on treva's page it is jan 28th
which one is correct?
