I started family genealogy in 1993 and it's steam rolled into a major addiction. |
My family names: Conner, Dobyns, Fleenor, Greenwell, Hamaker, Lewis, McClary, Pool, Reno, Skiles, Tabor, Terry, Thornburg, Tune and Weiss.
The Husband's names: Bicknell, Daniels (a.k.a. Danielus), Edgecomb, Haufmann, Kauffmann, Searles, Struckhoff, Swenson and Youngblut.
In honor of those who have gone before.
Yet another break through on my family tree comes from having memorials here at Find A Grave. Thank you Find A Grave for being here when we really need you.

Dear Suz Lew:
I recently discovered my great-grandparents' (Fred R. Strome and Gladys Owens) marriage license, October 1917. My great-grandfather's age is listed as 23...he would have turned 24 the next month, making his birth year 1893, not 1883! The year of 1893 is also supported by census records. I know he was older than Gladys, my great-grandmother, but not that much older! I was very happy to find this information! Could his birth year be corrected to 1893, the correct year? All the other information is correct!

I did check with Michael, and we decided that Harriet is Lester's mother. I also found the obituaries for his brother Lloyd, and Lloyd's wife, plus other links to her parents, etc. I entered Lester's and Lloyd's links on Find A Grave, and also added some of what I found on Family Search.
Thanks for your help.

ID # 99590814.
My wife is the niece of Lester E. Walton (ID # 154869310). I have been doing genealogy work on her family and my own family. I was entering information on Family Search today and was looking for the parents of Lester.
In his obituary, it mentions he was the son of Monroe and Harriet Friend Walton. I found nothing on Family search, but did fine Harriet Friend Walton on Find A Grave. On her tombstone, it says she was the wife of A. M. Walton. In the bio, it says she was the wife of Arthur M. Walton. The 'M.' could stand for Monroe.
If you have any information on her being Lester's mother, I may also have a link to Lester's brother Floyd (ID #157921427) mentioned in his obituary. I found his obituary.
|Kathleen Lisai||RE: The Lynngreen Family|
Hi, Yes, I know how it is once you get started! I have the Lynngreen's on a tree on Ancestry, its under a Higgins tree, and is public. I'm going to update that today and see if I can add some documents and obituaries and things like that. The only thing that is a little off is that the birthdate Johanna gives is not the one I found on her birth records from Ireland. The age given on census records and such was quite a bit younger than her real age. There weren't any other Johanna Lynngreens in San Francisco, much less one born in Ireland, so I'm sure it's her. She had a sister who lived in San Francisco, Mary McCarthy, wife of Thomas. Johanna is mentioned in Mary's obit. The rest of the family stayed mainly in the east, in Massachusetts and Vermont. Which is mentioned in Johanna's death notice, newspapers in Ware, Massachusetts and Brattleboro, Vermont were to be notified. Also, she is named in my greatgreatgrandfather, Daniel Higgins's obituary.
There are a number of Higgins descendants who are doing dna testing to connect the various branches of this family, all of whom came from the areas surrounding a small town named Castlegregory on the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry. I have been told that my dad's cousins once tracked down descendants of the Lynngreens, but it was a number of years ago and that info has been lost.
I'm fairly new to findagrave, I don't know what you need to edit this, but whatever I can send you just let me know. Meantime I'm updating ancestry. Thanks!
|Kathleen Lisai||Johanna Lynngreen|
Hello, I was wondering if it were possible to add some information to Johanna Lynngreen's memorial. She is buried in California, wife of John W. Lynngreen. She was my greatgreatgrandfather's sister. I have extensive info on her family, her maiden name was Higgins and they were from Kerry, Ireland. I have specifics. I've been trying to connect with some descendants from this branch for years with no luck. Would like to pass along some info if possible.

I want to compliment you on the excellent memorial you created for James B. Small. It's obviously well researched and nicely organized.
Thanks for all you do to keep FindaGrave a reliable resource.
