Bio and Links
Bio Photo Ancestor of Talley, Mayo, Cannon and Daniel. Mother working on family tree.
As of December 2010 I have relocated to the Inland Empire. I am minutes for Riverside National. But still I'm the Queen of the OC. LOL!!!!

I got started in the big Hunt in 1988. First you visit graves of the famous and than you think. Where is this one or this one or that one buried. Before you know it you've got 10,000 photos and growing. It's a never ending hobby. And their not going anywhere. Well that is if your not Lucy or Karen Carpenter or Bob Crane.

William Scott Jack Elam had 2 Wives, not 3
I'm sorry I had a typo in my earlier post, Jack had 2 wives not 3.
As I said in my earlier post, Jack Elam is my son-in-law's 1st cousin 2x removed. (Jacks mother was the sister of my SIL's great grandmother.)
Jack's Movie career started until 3 years after Adrienne Ames death. She was married to her 1st husband when Jack was 5 years old and living a life of high fashion and money in New York, by the time he was 19 years old and married for the 1st time, her movie career was over and she had divorced her 3rd husband and was becoming ill with Cancer. (Still in New York.)

After World War II, Jack Elam worked as a bookkeeper for Samuel Goldwyn Studios and then as controller for William Boyd's Hopalong Cassidy production company. Staring at small figures on ledger sheets for hours on end strained his good eye and doctors told him he risked losing his sight if he continued his lucrative accounting business. When a movie director friend was having trouble getting financing for three western scripts, Jack told him he would arrange the financing in exchange for roles as a "heavy" in all three pictures. The first was The Sundowners (1950), starring Robert Preston, which helped launch his long career.
Jack Elam has 2 documented wives and they were; Jean L. Hodgert they were married on 24 August 1939 in Las Vegas NV, and remained married until her death on 24 January 1961. He then married Margaret M. Jennison on 23 August 1961 in Los Angeles, California and remained married to her until his death on 20 October 2003.

Adrienne Ames was never married to William Scott "Jack" Elam. She had 3 documented husbands; Derward Dumont Truax (1925 - 1928) (divorced) (1 child).
Stephen Ames (21 August 1929 - 30 October 1933) (divorced),
Bruce Cabot (31 October 1933 - 6 April 1937) (divorced),
Her Hollywood career lasted about 10 years. From 1929 to 1940. In 1931 Adrienne Ames married actor Bruce Cabot after leaving her second husband, a rich New York City stockbroker, but that marriage only lasted six years. In her divorce she told the court that the main reason she left him was that he was a violent, uncontrollable drunk. In 1938 the pair appeared before a US Tax Appeals Board to explain why she wrote off more than $9000 in wardrobe and jewelry on her 1934 tax form, which she claimed was necessary for "professional reasons" (as was her maid). She claimed that her "daily expenses" included flowers, massages, taxis and beauty work.

There is no documentation of her being married to Jack and he had 2 wives that are documented in California during the time she is documented as a Wealthy Socialite in New York City. She was sick with Cancer for a long time before she died in 1947.
Please remove her as Jack Elam's Spouse.
Thank You,

Casey Stengel
See if he can take a picture that includes both the flat marker and the plackard that is located on the back wall. Let me know when he takes them and I'll send you my friends address via email so he can send them.

Hope all is good

Casey Stengal's Grave
Hey Kiddo,

A friend of mine, Marty Appel, who is the official historian for the New York Yankees is writing a book about Casey Stengel. He needs a high resolution photo of his grave for his book that includes the plackard located on the back wall. The grave is located at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Glendale). Would you be able to get a picture for him? He will give you full credit in the book.

Let me know and I hope all is well with you.

Lonnie Ray Frisbee
You left a very nice photo of a gravesite for Lonnie Ray Frisbee a few years ago. Thanks for that. I was wondering, if you could tell me the plot location of his gravesite, I will add it to his memorial page. Either way, thanks again.

RE: Rose Hills photo
It is the photo of the words "Rose Hills" on the Rose Hills Memorial Park Find A Grave page. The cemetery is Also known as: Whittier Heights Memorial Park.

The website is my family website where I have pages for each surname in my family. There is a cemetery page for each surname where I show photos of the entrance of the cemetery and the grave markers of relatives who are buried in the cemetery.

I think I found your name only on the Rose Hills Memorial Park memorial page; if I find it on another page, I'll give you the memorial number.

Thank you for your consideration.

Rose Hills
I wonder if I may have your permission to use your grave marker and/or cemetery photos on my family website. Check it out at This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

Thank you.
