Bio Photo UPDATE: February 2014 - As stated below, I would appreciate death certificates NOT being posted to any of the memorials I create/manage. To me, and many other members here, death certificates posted as photos clutter up and make a memorial look ugly. Stop and think, please, would you want your death certificate or a loved one's death certificate posted in this manner? I certainly would not. A better way to impart information is to send pertinent information via the "Edit" tab and ask that it be added to the bio area at the memorial. Thank you.

UPDATE: July 2013 - Recently I've been receiving a number of requests containing biographical information, etc. from persons not logged onto Find A Grave. If I cannot contact you via the public message board at Find A Grave for clarification (when needed) and sources, I will not add your information. There's too much room for error otherwise, and it is important to me and all researchers that we strive to make the memorials posted here at Find A Grave as accurate as can be. I ask to be able to contact via the public message board feature because I choose not to make public my email address.
----------------------------------------------

Thank you for visiting my page and for all you do here at Find A Grave. I enjoy this website and have met new friends and distant cousins as a result. Thank you to everyone who has provided photos, links, and other information.

The vast majority of my memorials are relatives. Some close, some distant, others in between.

Please be sure to use the Edit tab, then the Suggest a Correction . . . link when requesting updates, transfers, links to family members, etc. This feature is designed to eliminate frustration on all parts due to misspellings, having to search through multiple memorials, etc. Unlike some, I will not ignore/delete your public message regarding the above without first contacting you, but do require you use the proper avenue.

Find a Grave guidelines stating: "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren." are, in my view, just that. If you're more closely related than I and have information to add to a memorial, I'll more than likely transfer to you. Be sure to state your exact relation when requesting a transfer.

It would be most appreciated if you would not post obituaries or death certificates as photos on any of my memorials. Also, please note that Find A Grave guidelines state you should not post biographical information via a Virtual Flower. I think it may partly be because the creator/manager of the memorial is not notified when a Virtual Flower is left, and may not run across this vital information for days, months, or even years.

"The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone." Harriet Beecher Stowe

Green Berry Mays and Nurce Belle Logan
Hi Anna C.!
I am the great grandaughter of Green Berry and Nurce Belle. Their daughter Therma Jane Whittle is my grandmother. Her daughter Therma Jane Ochs is my mother.
Do you have any more back history on this family? It's interesting that the name Nurce was used on her gravestone. Her full name was Narcissus.

Sincerely,
Sheryl A.

Hi Anna C -
I would like to know your connection thru Harriet Mayes. Was it thru the Mayes Family or Francisco or Hopper Family? You may contact me thru my EMail: bojojackson99@comcast.net.
Do not see a tab to request a tranfer? Is it just thru a message?

Okay! Something as important as a name change needs some justification, I always think. In this case, please look carefully at the inscription on the mother's and father's stone. It lists a girl's name at the top of the list.
It is a very unusual first name, but seems to be a combination of the father's and mother's name.
The fact that the girl is not mentioned in the brother's obit--though all the other boys are mentioned, suggests that the girl died a long time earlier.
Finally, the parents' tombstone gives the marriage date, and the infant stone says who the parents are + the date of birth/death.
Best wishes--I simply wanted you to consider it, and thank you so much for writing again!

I sent you her first name. Please accept the edit. That was an explanation of how I happened to learn the first name (some FindaGravers want sources).
