I am a U.S. Navy Veteran with a tour of duty in Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam. I was assigned to VP-48 which was home based at NAS Moffett Field CA. I worked on and flew in the P-3A Orion. I am married and have two children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. I am a retired letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. I am a member of the American Legion, the American Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard (I ride a Harley) and I am a volunteer firefighter.|
I really enjoy being a volunteer for F-A-G. You can use my photos on your personal family trees all you want. All I ask, is that if you publish them in print anywhere, please give me credit for the photo. I keep the original full-sized photos on file and will be happy to email them to you if you need them rather than copying them from F-A-G. I welcome all contacts, corrections and updates. I will be happy to transfer memorials to family members. I consider it my honor to repair and/or reset the flags place on the graves of our Veterans.

I am sorry, I can't even leave a message properly.
Chalk it up to age. I meant Patriot Guard and not freedom riders. One friend lives in NC and there is an acquaintance in SC.

Jimmy I want to thank you for your helping others through Find A Grave. I have been on my journey with genealogy since the 80's and at that time I could visit cemeteries (and did in both SC and NC) Now because of age and health I am unable to do so. You and others who work with Find A Grave have made it possible for me to see graves and markers and I appreciate that very much. Since you don't mind I will be making copies for my family files on Ancestry and Family Tree Maker and I thank you very much. I am trying to get as much history as I can on these files for my descendants and others so that they can see their heritage. God bless you in your work.
By the way I know some of the freedom riders and I appreciate what you all do.

Hi Jimmy, thanks for the thanks & thanks to you as well for your service to our great country! I was stationed at NAS Memphis for 4 years back in the 80's and they had P-3's there on the opposite side of the base from us after we moved northside. Interesting AC. I was an instructor on basic A school hydraulics there. Memorial for Donald transferred to you. I like this name Neptune. I haven't seen that name before except in Greek mythology. Are you a Neptune? Just wondering? Cool if you want to keep that secret though. I see your doing a great job in F.A.G. I hate calling it that, lol. Where do you get your cemetery lists from? I did most of mine on foot, but some from lists from here and there. Take care.

Thank you for all the great pictures. I really appreciate you getting them for me.

Jimmy, Thank you so much for posting the photo of Mr. Owens. He was a lieutenant in my dad's infantry company. It really helps me to connect to my dad's WWII service to see the gravestones of the soldiers he fought beside. Thanks again! Best Regards, James Osborne

Thank's for your time and updating/adding the obituary info to Irwin LaFollette's memorial. :)

In the event that I have not thanked you, personally, for the transfers that you have provided me with, I wish to do so at this time.
My retirement from all my social and family duties have dwindled down since my health has had the opportunity to allow me to beat my God given expiration date, with the help of family, fantastic physicians and hospital, and the implantation of a pacemaker. Rest is my priority when not doing some physical duties, yet Find A Grave and family ancestry tracing is still fun.
To all my Find a Grave friends, you have all been a tremendous help with your contributions to me and especially to this site.
Happy Easter, be safe, have fun and Thank You.

Dear Mr Jimmy,
I want to first thank you for your service. My Daddy is a Vietnam Vet (Marine) therefor I know what it means to be a vet. Graham is my son & I cannot tell you how shocked & touched I was when this picture popped up as a leaf on our family tree. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! My son passed at 26 weeks utero however I was blessed to hold him. This does mean a lot. Jenn

Hello again. Would you please answer a question for me. As required by Find A Grave Rules, we can no longer scan obituaries to memorials. I now rewrite the obituaries in my own words, not verbatim and excluded any living persons, as required. Do you still want me to send obits this way. If you do not wish to enter such info, would you please let me know so I will not bother you anymore. According to Find A Grave Rules we can still scan death certificates, is it alright to add death certificates to your memorials? Thanks a regards.

Thank you Jimmy for the transfer of my brother's memorial. Also, thank you for your kind words. So sorry to hear of your loss too. Makes one wonder what would have been different if they had lived. I'm sure so many things. Thank you again for taking the time to post and take the picture of his marker, a kind gesture that was very much appreciated.
