|A little ring Encompasses our lives And many generations Link the rings of theirs, Thus forming a chain That is without end. -Goethe|
I've opened my "messages" back up. This doesn't entitle anyone to be disrespectful, which is why I closed it. If it happens, your message will go directly to FAG Administrator's. The message feature will be closed.
Walking the cemeteries, learning the history of those who have passed & making connections gives one a sense of accomplishment. I love every moment. One of my objective's is to compile Mound Cemetery with photo's & biographies. I've transcribed Mound for many years. I also transcribe Gardner in Pike Co., Harmon in Scioto, Blanton Branch in Johnson Co., KY, as well as other cemeteries in Clark, Green, Highland, Pike, Ross, Scioto & Johnson Co.. KY. I have family in many of these. I've taken pictures of headstone's, gone back a few years later & couldn't make them out. The elements are hard on the old one's. I'm not in this for the numbers game, whatever that is. How can anyone judge if someone is doing that or not? No one knows another's circumstances. I'm in this because Genealogy is my passion. It has been for 36 years and will be until someone is taking a picture of my stone.
Please don't post obituaries/bio's to flower/note section or correct me there. Edit & send. I will make the changes. If not I create a new memorial without the info posted to the p/n section. Send as many as you want. I'm glad to do this. Credit is always given. I'm also very glad to transfer if the request is reasonable. Once someone wanted transfers of over 30 graves. I couldn't believe it. I have a strong belief family should manage family, whether it's a recent death or someone four generations past. I also follow FAG rules by omitting the living from obituaries & not posting pictures I did not take. In the past I have done this before I realized the rule. I'm slowly removing the living & pictures from obituaries I previously posted.
Feel free to upload your photo's or certificate's. They are very much welcome. I value anything that shows history of the deceased.
If I've created a duplicate, "duplicate" is all that's required by FAG. I add duplicate #, date originated & by who. I'm more than glad to remove duplicates. It's never done intentionally.
I also try to never post the living. Because a stone has two names, does not mean both are deceased. Someone made a memorial for one of my "very alive" cousins. The spouse had passed but not my cousin. This is also against FAG policy.
Lastly, a member once told me FAG thought the memorials should open like a book. I agree. It can't if you don't link the families. They should be linked in death as they were in life.
PRAYER FOR GENEALOGISTS
Lord, help me dig into the past
And sift the sands of time
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient road
On which my fathers trod
And led them through so many lands
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dusty manuscript
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts
My soul when I can't find
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.

Are you related through the Hickmans or Claytors???
I have done lots of postings in Hickman Cemetery in Jackson County. Jack Hickman's kids wound up over in Pike County. There is a duplicate Boyd at the front of Hickman Cemetery, which has just been lying there for quite awhile..

I am trying to wean the Maribelle I creared from her parents and husband.
Son Terrence Drennen is in Greenlawn Cemetery up here in Columbus and have made suggested corrections here, but with no response.
I want to free up the slot I created for further usage, but until I get a response back, I am stymied.

Thanks for all the help with this family!

Looked at this info again, and I think I may have misinformed you about there being two entries for the same person. I had been looking for the name Dorothy L. Roberts, but I wasn't sure which cemetery she was buried in nor what year she was born. I think I typed in "Dorothy Roberts - Highland County" and that may be where the two entries came up that I thought were one in the same. There definitely is one entry for a Dorothy Roberts in Roberts Cemetery #2 (Find A Grave #90427141). But you may have entered another Dorothy Roberts with the same birth and date years in a different cemetery. That's why I thought your entry was a duplicate one. Your entry was probably correct for whichever cemetery you had it listed in. Sorry for my blunder. Hope this will help you to figure out the situation. Again, sorry for the error on my part and also for the confusion with the two entries.

I probably wouldn't have noticed, but I am trying to go back an updated the ones I added in the spring. At the time I had only a handful of pages from the book and had no idea where in the cemetery people were buried because it was out of context, so as I go back working on a section I am updating too :-) I really couldn't care either way. I have no problem hitting delete as long as the information is out there. Thanks for taking GREAT photos. No feet, no fingers and crisp clear pictures. :-) You are doing an excellent job!

Hello again, I have done some edits on the Drennens of Evergreen Union Cemetery at Waverly.
I put Maribelle on not realizing the name had been misspelled Drennan.
I can probably re-use my Maribelle Find A Grave spot

Thank you, I know facebook is just as bad with all the little silly things, when there's bigger issues to worry about. I just started getting into this site, and enjoy it. I can't afford ancestors.com. Hope you have a good day.
