Bio and Links
Bio Photo Growing up, my grandparents lived next to a cemetery and I took many walks and bike rides through that cemetery. I find the cemetery a peaceful place to gather my thoughts and to wonder about the lives of those I pass.

Over the past several years, I have been researching my family genealogy, and without the unlikely coincidences and kindness of strangers, I may not have been able to achieve what I have been able to. This is where F.A.G. comes in. I feel that I can possibly help others in their search, just as I have been so generously helped.

If you have any updates that you would like me to add to any of the memorials, just send me a suggestion via the edit tab and I would be happy to update it.

Will Transfer Outside Guidelines
If you want me to transfer a record, just let me know. I will be happy to transfer any record to you, with the exception of those that are in my family line.

If I have posted a memorial for one of your relatives, and you wish for me to take it down, please just let me know. I don't like taking memorials down because it may hinder the search of someone researching their family lines, but I certainly will respect your wishes.

I do transcribe cemetery directories, therefore, you will see many of my listings only have a date of death. This is all that is listed in the directory I am transcribing. If you have additional information for any entry, your help is always welcomed.

Thank you, Shannon. I was excited when I first found the record for Erick and then realized it was his father instead. I appreciate your quick response and I'm tickled that you already have him linked to his wife. These are 4th great-grandparents to my children and I appreciate your efforts tremendously.

RE: Lloyd and Francis Whipple - Floyd Cemetery
Hi, I appreciate your offer, but I was just working on some of my parents old friends. I grew up knowing Alice and Bill Whipple.

If you see any of my creations you would want, let me know. Some I may transfer else where. Jo Ann Hunter Gippner

Calder/Barrie, Floyd Cemetery Photos
Date: June 11, 2016
I have added photos to the following: George L Calder, Mary Barrie, and Lizzie Calder. These photos are from my grandmother-Jean Fortune Calder (Campbell).

I have also added the edit details for this family that I have in my family records.

There is a photo of Alex Barre which was shared by DaleDeanBarrie on his family tree--AlexBarrie2. He is your contact regarding a decision to add the AlexBarrie photo to the Floyd Cemetery Memorial.
Kind regards,
Barbara

RE: William, Hiram, and Hattie Brown. - Floyd cemetery
Sorry, I left out the best part. My Grandmother's Uncle Thomas Todsen farmed about a mile east of Grand Mound. He didn't arrive from Denmark until after Hiram Brown moved west. Thomas retired in Davenport and my G Grandfather and their elder sister lived in Clinton.

FYI

Thanks for the offer. They are not family, but they did originate in Clinton County. While tracking down family, I try to make other connections that I run across.

Thanks again.

RE: Memorial 113821085
Good Morning, Thank you for offering but I can just send the details you would like to have show on your site. You have done a HUGE job pulling this information together and I would not want to interfere with the marvelous work you have done.

I am working on my ancestry.com information and leaving for Scotland at the end of July so my plate is really full.

Would you like me to email what I have and you can decide what you want to use?

Did you notice that Alex left Scotland and his family after his mother died in 1905. It must have been difficult to leave wife, children brothers, sisters behind, but money would be scarce for a large family. I can sense why Margaret would never want to leave Scotland for Sioux City Iowa. My Mother only met Alex a few times and she said his highland dialect was very difficult to understand. Mary Jean Fortune (Calder) was from the Border Region. The countryside was much more like the Dakotas.

I was happy to know they could share companionship at the end of their lives. Alex raised white collie dogs and Mary raised her family in the house on Mulberry Street and worked as a nurse. Alex worked at the Meatpacking plant in Morningside. There was a bible In her belongings with the note "To Auntie Barrie from Russell Barrie "Ulaanderen" sp?. Barbara
