Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care;
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you;
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled;
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder as you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew;
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

No problem on the pictures. My son has posted quite a few, he basically handles our ancestry and find a grave account.

No problem, I really do appreciate you letting me know about the wrong statement being there. We are trying to get these right.

I'm not related, I only got involved because of the request for a picture of the stone.

Well, Kay, all I can say is that that was a shocker! I am an experienced genealogist and am well aware that you don't have to live in a state to have a dc from that state, the dc is documented in the state of death not residence.

I have no clue why I would have made such a statement on the photo, but it has been corrected.

You are very welcome. I'm happy I was able to do it for you. This is a way I can pay back to those that have been creating memorials.

I also took Narvella Shires but for some reason I didn't ck to make sure I had it and only got the bottom of the monument, I'm hoping I can make it back this weekend. If I don't get it done by Saturday tho, it won't get done this weekend, they are calling for rain Sunday.
