Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family history research for over 12 years. Needless to say, it has become a passion. I have visited many county Genealogical Societies in PA, MD, VA and NC and have received a great deal of assistance from the local volunteers. Becoming a volunteer on Find A Grave is a small way for me to repay their kindness.

I will add or correct information as quickly as possible. Please use the edit tab on the memorial to send any corrections, additional information or to request transfers.

I appreciate the edits you send on the memorials that I inherited. Also, your photos are excellent, and really add to the memorials.

Samuel Sumner
Hi Donna, I think defiantly that Samuel is buried in Cane Creek. He is in the older section, but not his wife. His memorial # is 59615163. The gal that did his memorial didn't add all the information from the stone. The memorial also said, "died Dec 24, 1897" which makes his birthday March 18, 1825. This is from Cane Creek inscriptions, compiled by Auslaud and Ledbetter

I agree that you are right and Buncombe should be the death county. Thank you so much for your help and anything you can add or errors you find I would appreciate hearing from you. Blessings

Oak Grove cemetery damage
Cruel and heartless vandals have damaged 58 gravestones at Oak Grove Cemetery, Marion, NC. I am posting photos on individuals and/or family stones that were damaged.
