Forgot one other thing... I noticed a stone leaning on the right side of the large marker... did you happen to take a photo of that as well? Just wondering what it said, if it was at all readable. Thanks again...

This is the obit for his wife Ann. She is buried at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.

ANN V. DUSICH, Age 87 of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2003 at the Whispering Pines Nursing Home, Valparaiso, Indiana. Ann was nearly a lifelong area resident. Ann, a disabled veteran was a Wac Sergeant in the United States Army who tested guns during World War II and was assigned to various detached services. She worked at the Hotel Gary as a cashier and hostess before becoming a self-employed beautician.

John and Ann were Foster Parents to countless children over the years and in 1977 received an award for 20 years of outstanding volunteer services from the State of Indiana. Ann was
a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Chesterton American Legion Post #170 and a charter member of the Women in Military Service Memorial Foundation. Inc. She was born in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia on May 31, 1916 to the
late Anton Joseph (Pocrnja) Posinja and Regina Posavac. She was married on June 1, 1946 in Gary, IN, and was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 54 years, John A. Dusich. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Alex Demetros and sisters, Madeline Vuko Crowe and Stephanie Mamelson; She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Payton of Chesterton, IN
and Stephanie (Jerry) Dobrian of Valparaiso, IN; 3 grandchildren, James Payton of San Francisco, Sarah Payton of Chicago, and John Payton of Chesterton; many caring nieces and nephews, Jean Stimack, Joan Owens, Joel Vuko, Colleen Johnso, Dona Henry, Richard Mamelson and Dennis Mamelson and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial wil be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Avenue, Chesterton, IN. Father Gerald Schweitzer officiating.

Interment in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 from 4-8 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN.
