I have spoken to the Poughkeepsie Journal (owned by Gannett Publications), who referred me back to their newspaper where is stated that all obituaries, pictures and information MAY be used by the reader in whatever way they wish, including reproduction for reposting electronically in part or whole for publishing. With this in mind it is my notification that I do have permission to post the obituaries I have placed on memorials and ask that they remain.
I am currently working on putting together a book to include the over 2,000 obituaries I have located for family members with indexing and cross-referencing. This project will probably take up most of my next few months, but I will still be posting here on Findagrave as I discover new family members. Anyone interested in copy of this book can contact me at my e-mail address. Since it is looking to be a large book, I may split into two parts: men and women.
I have been researching my family tree for about 30 years now, and just started really going through graveyards looking for family members about 20 years ago. I have found more information on the internet in the short time I have been researching here than in all the time I spent in libraries, courthouses, and town halls. I will be taking pictures of gravestones of as many people as I can and adding to local cemeteries and findagrave.com over the summer and fall of 2014. If anyone has a family member, that I have added to this site, to yourself (who is not a direct family member for myself) please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you. I'd would rather have family members maintain memorials than a stranger who has no connection, but I feel no burial place should be neglected or forgotten. If there is someone or a graveyard you wish me to find for you in the Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster County areas let me know and I will add it to my travels. My hope is to do a complete census of as many cemeteries as possible over the next few years.
Another note: for old New York newspaper articles you can use Fultonhistory.com. They have papers from the 1700's to 2000's. You can search for family members there.
One more note: I hereby give permission for all to use photos I have posted. I feel that if these are your family you have as much right to add them as I do. You do not need to ask, and I do not require you to attribute them to me, unless you wish too. It is good to find loved ones and I am happy that if I have found yours for you.

Can you remove the photo of Edna Duncan's (#30803027)obituary from her memorial. I had already added it on there. Thanks so much!

|Marc Feil||Brainard Hosier|
I received a hit on Ancestry.com from your post here.
Brainard was my mother's cousin through the Neal line. Would be interested to know your connection to him.

I removed the one photo as requested. For some reason it would not allow me to delete the cemetery sign photo??
|Nancy Diaz||Doris v. Reily Feller|
I would like to take over her find a grave page. The number is 109952252. Thanks in advance ☺

I would be very interested in your book or books.
You maintain the Find A Grave for one of my aunt's and her family - Lucy Vandeusen and Alexander Card in Dutchess Co. NY.
Please let me know when the book or books may be ready.
Thank you for your efforts.
|Linda Wieringa||Elizabeth Parker Nelson and the Johnson family|
Elizabeth Parker Nelson is my 3rd great-grand aunt. Elizabeth was the 2nd wife of Rev. John Gray Johnson, who the brother of my 3rd great-grandmother, Hannah Johnson Trcziyulny. I have a lot of Trcziyulny family history in the Trcziyulny Family Tree on Ancestry.com. Hannah Johnson married Charles D. Trcziyulny, son of Baron Charles Trcziyulny, who made a name for himself in Pennsylvania history. Gov. Pinchot named Mt. Trcziyulny in his honor, located in Bellefonte/Milesburg, Pennsylvania. I have records from the Nelson family bible, but wonder if there are any other family records pertaining to the lineage of John Johnson who married Isabella Todd. Thanks!
thank you for your message. I thought I was able to request a headstone, but I wasn't quite sure. On ancestry it was noted that there wasn't a headstone. I'm honestly not even positive that a headstone hasn't been placed since that paper was written that stated there wasn't a headstone. I'm actually in the process of trying to verify that. I don't have his plot number and wasn't quite sure how large the cemetery was otherwise I would've put in a request for a picture to be taken. I didn't want to send anyone out there without having that information. Are you related to the crapsers? I noticed on one of my memorials a while back that you had put a new picture up. Talk to you soon.
