Bio and Links
Bio Photo I find copying headstones interesting, I like finding interesting people with interesting story's. Most my family buried in the greater Philadelphia area but I live in the Harrisburg area so I'll copy headstones here. Worked inside most my life and wanted to be outside after I retired so copied headstones and published them in the Quarterly once issued by the Capital Area Genealogical Society.

I am trying to find the grave of my father, Erich Kern. I believe he was buried in Shoops Cemetery, Lot 384, northern half, Section A-1. Can you help?

Libby
Robert,
What can you tell me about Libby? My great grandfather's Brother died at Libby in 1863, was it the practice of the prison to bury the inmates at the prison? Does the Cemetery have a grave register?

Thanks

Myrtle Prowell
Thanks for your prompt reply. I was afraid that you wouldn't be able to help, but thanks anyway. The second listing is probably just a duplicate card and who knows why they changed her name. I have researched my uncle's family back five generations and I dislike getting hung up on something simple. Oh well, it will surface sometime.

Myrtle E. Prowell
I noticed that you entered my uncle's grandmother's grave (Myrtle E. Prowell) into the Find-a-Grave website. You also entered a listing of Elma Myrtle Prowell with an unknown birthdate and the same death date as my uncle's grandmother. Where did you find the ELMA?

I have been researching our history and can't find Myrtle's middle name. She died of December 3, 1935. Her husband was Lake Prowell and he died in 1937.

Bob,

I have Emma's obituary. If you'll e-mail me, I'll paste it and send it to you so you could place it on her memorial if you're so inclined. She's a descendant of my great grandfather's brother.

Thanks,

RE: Dauphin Cemetery
Thanks Bob. It's my local cemetery and I've got dozens of relatives buried there. My father worked there as a kid mowing grass back in the 1930's He remembers seeing the caretaker pitch broken or fallen headstones over the bank!! I'm hoping to also raise interest to get a sign put up and perhaps do a dig on that very overgrown bank to look for old stones that could still be readable.
