Bio and Links
Bio Photo I find copying headstones interesting, I like finding interesting people with interesting story's. Most my family buried in the greater Philadelphia area but I live in the Harrisburg area so I'll copy headstones here. Worked inside most my life and wanted to be outside after I retired so copied headstones and published them in the Quarterly once issued by the Capital Area Genealogical Society.

Please use 'edit' tab on memorial page for corrections and or additional information.
I now strictly adhere to the Find A Grave guidelines regarding transfers. No exceptions. Requests made that fall outside of the guidelines, or do not state relationship, are no longer being acknowledged. Virtual cemeteries are the way to "gather" your ancestors together.

Please don't justify an out-of-guideline transfer request for the sake of adding links and/or other information. Am perfectly capable of doing this, especially now with the new EDIT system - much quicker than transferring. If you decide to not forward information or links because a transfer isn't done, then that's your decision.

Mary Yeager Hoopes
There is a duplicate memorial for Mary. She is buried in section 28 lot I Grave 5

She was the daughter of Alfred and Susan Yeager and at the time of her death was married to Joseph Elcock Hoopes. Mary was born in 1861 and died in New York on the 29 Oct 1895.

I had some time today and looked at the memorial page for Verna Davis. Her parents were Harry Davis and Ella Yeager Davis. Verna is listed in the 1900 census at 12 years old.. Hers is an interesting story. She married a man named Harvey Embick but he found another woman and they divorced in May of 1934. Harvey's soon to be bride had to pay a settlement to Verna in an alienation of affection suit. Harrisburg Telegraph 29 June 1934 article. The new lady in Harvey's life was a widow and had received a large inheritance. Harvey must have been looking out for his old age. Her death certificate can be found online. She was born on the 25 Dec 1887 and died in the Harrisburg Hospital 14 April 1953. I only asked about your source to double check my info. Sometimes it is difficult to dig through all of the paperwork. Thought you might enjoy the family drama.

I am interested in knowing where you got the information listed about Verna Davis. Aunt Verna did not die at age 1 but died at age 65 in 1953. She lived all of her married life in New Cumberland on Third St.

RE: Ohlsdorfer Friedhof
Hi Robert,

The cemetery does have a website, you may want to try to write to them with the information you have to see if your great grandparents were buried there, hopefully they have an English speaking person to answer your inquiry -

There is no list that I am aware of. If you know the location of their deaths then you could write for their death certificates, but even they may not have the cemetery listed. There are many more cemeteries in Germany than are listed here.

Germany practices grave "recycling" where the burial space is "leased" for a period of years - typically between 25-50 years after the date of burial of the last person buried. Unless the plot lease is renewed by the family, after that time the remains and headstone are removed from the plot and the plot is resold. The cemetery still could have documentation of burials but the plots may be gone for your family.

I just submitted an edit for her day/month of birth/death. They finally surfaced on the recently released 1940 death records. Just wanted you to know the data source. Thanks.

I know this was a duplicates situation. I don't know how to delete it. Have it deleted as far as a 'W' but it won't let me delete all of it. If you can get the rest out please do! Thanks! CindyPrickett.

PS this is my aunt so the information is correct in the memorial with the picture.

Michael Joseph Punch
Hi Robert,
Happy New Year to you and yours!!! Hope you enjoyed your Christmas also!
My Great Grandfather "Michael Joseph Punch" was supposedly buried at Catholic Cemetery in Williamstown, PA on 20 Feb 1932. I cannot find his name listed on as being buried there. His exact dates shown on his death cert are "Born: 16 July 1851 and Death: 16 February 1932". It doesn't give much info on the findagrave page here, nor is there a headstone photo. His wife's (my Great Grandmother) was Sarah (nee Buggy) Punch, Born: 7 Sep 1856 and Died: 20 April 1939, Both having died in Williamstown, PA. I do not have her death cert. Assume they were buried together. If they are buried together at Catholic Cemetery then neither is listed as being there. There is also a chance they may be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Can you see if you can find them at Catholic for me? This is an extremely important part of the PUZZLE I am faced with and would really like to get your help!! Whatever you can do to make it happen, would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know what you think!
My Highest Regards,
Toni Siegle
