RE: Lehmann
Hi Gerri,

Yes Annie Schoelzel Lehmann was Arnold Lehmann Jr.'s mother. The correct memorial number is #51929197. Thank you for connecting the family members. Annie Schoelzel Lehmann was my grandmother. :)

RE: Brooks
Actually you can link the other children to Doc. What you do is go to their respective memorials and then click on the edit tab. Then click on 'Relationship (parent and spouse links). On the next page simply type or copy and paste Doc's memorial number where it says father, then click submit. Then once your edit request gets processed, his kids will be linked to him.

If you don't know about the new edit system, please take a moment to read about in the FAQ's by clicking on 'Help with Find a Grave'. There is a ton of information you can add to ANY pre-existing memorial on this site. Even if the memorial is no longer active. As stated before if the memorial manager is inactive, your edit request gets automatically processed after 21 days.

But as I mentioned before, being able to add family links and other data is great, but that goes beyond the mission of this site which is to record 'known' burials. The original memorial for Doc fulilled that mission. Your creation of the other memorial for the sole purpose of adding additonal data and family links is not what this site is for.

Again, anything beyond the creation of a memorial goes beyond the mission of this site. Family links are great, but we need to remember that we don't have to create a second memorial to link family. This can be done very easily by using the new edit system.

You can delete your memorial now if you want to or wait to do so until the orginal memorial is completely updated.

RE: Brooks
Sorry, must have had Elmer on the brain from somewhere else and didn't catch my error when typing out the SAC I sent you.

It appears your memorial may not be a duplicate in the traditional sense. I have found out that Brooks Cemetery actually existed twice on Find a Grave and both cemeteries were merged resulting in a few unintentional dupes.

Actually it's very easy to preserve the links and data on your memorial. I have even done all the work for you. Rachel was already linked to both memorials for Heustice so what I did was go to her memorial, submitted a edit request using the new EDIT system and removed the spousal link to your memorial. She will still remain linked to the original memorial however.

I then went to his daughter Elizabeth's memorial and submitted an edit request changing the parent link from your memorial to the orignal memorial.

Third I sent an old style edit request, copy and pasted your information you had in his bio area and asked the manager of the orginal memorial if they would add it to the bio area of their memorial. If they do not respond to my request after 30 days, then I will send an e-mail to and ask them to add the data to the original memorial. Lots and lots of ways to get pre-existing memorials updated.

Keep in mind it may take a few days, perhaps even 21 for all the edits to be processed. The new edit system makes it very easy to add data to pre-existing memorials. Even if you are dealing with inactive members, your edit request gets automatically processed after 21 days by the site admins.

It's nice we can add famnily links, places of birth/death and so on. But really that goes beyond the mission of this site. First and foremost this is a burial documentation site. Anything more that that is not required, but certainly can be done.
