RE: Spouse of William Marion Pitman
Thanks Judy!
I have a good bit of this information. I am curious about where you found the name for Ann Lou Ballew. As I descend from Minnie Pitman, I have a copy of her death certificate which mentions her mother as Lou Belue. When my father was still alive, I had inquired about his great grandmother and he gave the same name of Lou Belue. Of course, a death certificate is a secondary document as the information is not provided by the individual. I have seen the surname spelled several different ways.

I am having a difficult time locating any information on this Lou or Ann Lou. The only information I have is what I have gleaned from Ancestry and various other sites. I have made trips to Spartanburg and Gaffney in hopes of finding any info but I have come away empty-handed.

I have a death certificate for Minnie Pitman that states her father to be William and her mother to be Lou Belue. Can you tell me if you have any info on this particular union? I am the great granddaughter of Minnie Pitman and am trying to piece the branches of the genealogical tree together.

RE: Memorial
Dear Judith,
Many thanks for visiting the memorial and for leaving your tributes on the memorials for the children. When I first created that memorial, it was for the Infants Jay, whom I knew nothing about. After learning the names of the little ones, I made each one of them a memorial recently. This story was most troublesome for me, even though I have seen many horrible deeds done by terrible people, this one certainly takes the award for the being the most brutal and savage murders in my years spent researching here. A tip from another contributor spurred me to dig deeper and after making contact with several libraries, historical centers and the Wake Forest University, I had learned what I needed to create a memorial for their awful father. Yes, Rebecca suffered terribly and wasn't able to attend the Jay's trial, for she was still hospitalized due to her injuries.
Your friendship means very much and I am grateful for that.
Blessings,

Jeff
