(Updated June 24, 2014)|
I have started adding Plot locations to those memorials that my books list.
If I do not have a location, I am putting a ? in the Plot field. This way, I can tell if I have already looked that person up, and know that I have to refer someone to the cemetery for the plot.
If you haven't read the FAQs yet, or haven't read them lately, they are updated regularly. You are responsible for reading them and following the instructions in them. Anyone who comes to me with something that is against the FAQs will be ignored.
Note: Anyone sending edits or transfer requests through email or the 'old' SAC page will not get them done if they are on the new EDITS page. Please use it as it's easier and quicker.
Happy Spring :) (Again, finally!)
The weather is starting to get and stay a little nicer, and I hope that within a couple of weeks I will be able to start gong out and getting photo requests. We'll have to wait and see though :)
Please read the below information before sending me corrections or edits. Failure to do so may keep your corrections from being done.
Also, please use the NEW EDIT system... do not send me emails with corrections that can be done by the NEW system... it takes longer and can be done wrong.
Any of the following items that are changable via the NEW EDIT system are to be sent that way:
Birth/death date, birth/death place
Relationship (parent and spouse links)
Plot or GPS
If you do not send them this way, they may not get done. Please do not use the OTHER option for these items.
Note: With the New Year upon us, one of my resolutions is to be able to do more graving, etc., both behind the scenes and out in the field.
Hopefully, personal issues that may be taking place this year won't affect me too much, and may actually give me more time.
Have a great and prosperous year :)
Greetings! I am a F.A.G. volunteer for Atchison County, KS. If you have any questions about cemeteries here, feel free to email me and I will try my best to answer.
I am also working on getting the cemeteries from surrounding counties entered / corrected.
Sometimes, real life gets in the way and I may not get something done within a few days... if you haven't heard from me, or a change hasn't been made, after 2 weeks, please send me a reminder.
Please read all notes as they are important...
Thank you and have a great day :)
Most of my memorials were created from the 'Kansas Room burial listings' that are listed in the 'References Used' section below.
Most errors in my memorials are due to transcription errors in that list. I am in the process of correcting the errors from there but it will take a long time and a lot of research.
I am more than happy to make corrections... just be polite about it.
Please do not leave me corrections on this profile page. See below for instructions on how to send corrections... that is the preferred way for me (and for Find A Grave, see FAQs). Thank you.
Please use the Suggest a Correction link on the EDIT tab on a memorial if you'd like to send me questions or suggestions. Any left on my profile page will be ignored.
If I have created a memorial for your immediate family member and you would like it transferred to you, please use the Edit link located in the upper right hand corner of each memorial and the Suggest a Correction (S.A.C.) option.
I have no problem transferring memorials... just ask (and use the S.A.C. link).
Also, if you find any errors I have made, please use the EDIT tab on the memorials to send me a Suggest a Correction. I appreciate people helping me fix errors.
Also please send any additional information you have via the same method and I will add it to the memorial.
All 'Date of Death' fields that were originally from the above sources (books / website) are actually the burial dates. Most cemeteries only record the burial date as that is what they have in their records.
Please let me know when the burial date is incorrect and you know the Death date. Thank you.

I'm glad you don't mind the SACs. Potter seems to have been the hub for Walnut, Mount Pleasant, Kickapoo & Easton townships.

You notified me of my duplicate memorial # 131042181. I have deleted mine, as the dates are the same, and the spelling is off by two letters.
I followed a cemetery transcript and I am sure I spelled it correctly. This Franz didn't show up in my search, as it is of course, spelled differently. I will take your word for it, that mine in the incorrect spelling.
I though, don't know how to answer you, as there is way too much on your page to read. so I hope you accept this response.
JoE (I try to do my best) sorry about the error.

I searched for your Ann and Ellen Cain - but didn't see them. Time permitting, I will go again for Cains and let you know about all that I find.
I would love to say, yes, I'll photograph the entire cemetery, but it's huge and my time is limited. I'll do what I can, though.
Warmest Regards, Jan

|Ron Roberson||RE: re: Doles Cemetery, Barber Co KS|
Hi, sorry I didn't see your message until just now. I have Doles relatives from that area so was very interested to try to find it. I found it a couple of years ago, but only after quite a bit of looking. There is absolutely nothing to indicate a cemetery is there, and all told there are only a handful of stones visible today. (It's clear to me that more stones are now covered with soil and grass, etc.) It appears to be on private land but I have no idea of the status of the cemetery. I had to climb over a couple of barbed wire fences to get to the stones (the road now splits the cemetery in two). I could give you a contact in Medicine Lodge who knows more about it. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

I added two more photos - Mary & John. Only one left is Mildred Rose and I'll look for that the next time I'm out there.

Hi FranzJr, I am trying to find certain people in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Where would I find the Plot locations for people? Is there a list at the Kansas Room at the library? Thanks for any help you can give. I know I can request a look up but I do enjoy walking the cemeteries. Sincerely, Linda Mauzey Murray
Right now I am looking for:
Julia Ann McLaughlin
George Barton - the older
Homer Hardy Locker
|Debra Park||Martha Jane Boatwright (Callendar)|
I added a picture to her Memorial, also, here is more info including the links where I found the info:

good to know that my time has been of use to someone else. Many times on the genealogy detective trail 1 link 1 hint 1 link can make all the difference.

Thanks for adding the info! I'm not picky about where!
