My added vs. managed memorials difference is quite large because I manage many memorials transferred to me from an inactive member. |
Please do NOT post scanned obituaries and news articles as photos to memorials as they are not allowed per Findagrave rules. I will ask that they be removed if I find them. Send me the typed information (including source) via the edit tab and I will add it in the bio field where the information belongs.

Such an AWESOME find! Ties everyone together.
Two of his daughters' death records say their mother was Bridget (Foley) Walsh, not Margaret.
But Patk's wife in 1860/70/80 is listed as Margaret/Peggy. And per the girls' birthdates she would fit as the mother for the youngest of them.
So perhaps she'd be Bridget vs Margaret in an obit?
I see some online chat about Irish gals having official vs family names.

Thank you for checking for obits.
They are in 1860, 70 & 80 censuses in Springfield. The spelling of the name varies Walsh, Welch, Welsh.
Patrick is listed in the 1894 Springfield, Illinois city directory: died March, 6, 1894.
The date is off per the stone which says 1893. Either one could be right, but does indicate he died in Springfield.
Ancestry doesn't have a 1900 city dir to check for Margaret.
You'd think they'd at least merit a little burial notice by the 1890s.

Thank you SO much for the obits and rootsweb link. I've added the corrections and one obit I found.
I trying to see if James Walsh is the son of
-Patrick Walsh # 21891950 died Mar 6, 1893
-Margaret Walsh # 21891485 died Dec 24, 1899
but their obits are not in any of the newspaper archives I subscribe to. Would those dates be covered in the resource you use?

I believe this a family, based on stone styles, censuses, death records, etc--but would like them verified by their proximity in a shared cemetery plot.
James Walsh # 21891446 "father"
Mary J. Walsh # 21891518 "mother"
John Walsh # 78804379
Walter Walsh # 21891997
Gertrude Walsh # 21891409
Walter F. Walsh # 21892001
Raymond R. Walsh # 21891993
Francis R. Walsh # 21891403
