Bio and Links
Bio Photo It's been just recently that I've discovered the fun of tracing roots - and as a result I now find myself in the local cemeteries quite often trying to unravel one mystery or another. I'm glad this site is here to help preserve the history which is rapidly disappearing. I enjoy the hunt and the satisfaction which comes from helping someone out who may not be able to make it to beautiful Southern Illinois themself. Happy hunting to everyone! Steph

Sorry, didn't mean to jump the gun on her. Hope she is recovering nicely. The memorial is no longer there. When the time comes I'm sure another one will be created, hopefully it will not be anytime soon!

Margaret Ehler
I am looking for information on Margaret Ehler. Her death certificated states she was buried in Illinois. Here is the information:

Margaret Ehler, "Michigan, Deaths and Burials, 1800-1995"
Name: Margaret Ehler
Gender: Female
Burial Date: 01 Oct 1954
Burial Place: Marissa, Illinois
Death Date: 30 Sep 1954
Death Place: Watervliet, Berrien, Michigan
Age: 85
Birth Date: 02 Apr 1869
Birthplace: Marissa, Illinois
Race: White
Marital Status: Widowed
Spouse's Name: William E. Ehler
Father's Name: James R. Wagey
Father's Birthplace:
Mother's Name: Sarah Jane Mcferron
Mother's Birthplace:

This is the only headstone I can see in the Marissa cemetery. (Margaret C. Miles) But too much of the information is different. Is it possible that the husbands middle name is Emmell and that is the "E" listed in William E. Ehler on the death certificate? I have her maiden name as Wagey, but his headstone states it's Miles. Was she married a second time? It would seem that they are different people, but her birth and death dates line up? Any ideas for me? Thanks so much!

I see that you are maintaining Carl and Maria Vogt as well as most of their children. Their youngest daughter (Lydia Lena) was my grandmother. I just entered her and my grandfather (Henry Biermann). If you would be so kind as to connect her with her siblings to their parents it would greatly appreciated.

Parents of Lydia:
Carl Fredrick "Charles" Vogt
2 DEC 1844 - 22 NOV 1926
Maria Augusta Dorothea Gielow
6 OCT 1852 - 10 JUN 1941

Charles Heinrich Vogt 8 OCT 1871 - 18 APR 1930
Louise Wilhelmina Vogt 6 JUN 1874 - 5 SEP 1935
Mary Vogt 12 MAY 1876 - 25 OCT 1962
Albert G. F. Vogt 19 MAR 1878 - 29 AUG 1964
Lena Vogt 23 AUG 1880 - 2 FEB 1978
Augusta S. Vogt 16 OCT 1882 - 2 FEB 1984
Henry Johnson Vogt 3 OCT 1884 - 12 OCT 1892
Minnie Vogt 24 SEP 1886 - 26 FEB 1968
Wilhelmine Rosine Vogt 26 DEC 1888 - 22 SEP 1962
Matilda (Tillie) Vogt 20 OCT 1891 - 21 FEB 1972
Caroline Emma (Anna) Vogt 22 OCT 1893 - JUL 1984

Thank you so much for the picture. I am working on the genealogy of my mother-in-law's family. She is 94 and very excited about the research. Thanks again for adding another puzzle piece.

RE: Antje Repke
That's completely up to you. I'll take it if you want since the Rev and Antje were my great great grandparents. I need to make a visit to Campbell Hill to visit my family's history.
